If I Was The Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, I Would Buy The Next Presidential Election.

What would it take, a couple, three billion channeled through a mosaic of quite legal and source untraceable shell corporations to make illegal contributions to a candidate of my choosing, and voila! I have my guy in the White House.

Some of the current donations to the right-wing don't even have a name attached, just a PO box number.

Wonder where that money really came from.

How do you know he's not trying to buy this one? Scuba Feb 2012 #1
I don't. But I would be really surprised if illegal foreign money *wasn't* ending up Ikonoklast Feb 2012 #2
Does anyone doubt that? Scuba Feb 2012 #3

Just look at the Nat'l Chamber of Commerce. Plenty of frangible foreign money goes right there. Scuba Feb 2012 #5

I'd be willing to bet that those geniuses on the Roberts Court might not believe it, but it seems they suspend all belief in reality in some of their rulings...like CU.

To say that those red-blooded Murkins can be bought off so easily in order to have legislators 'see things our way' including killing domestic jobs in favor off off-shoring isn't to be spoken of.

The Soviet ambassador to the US approached Humphrey and without expressly offering anything, sort of implied that they wanted him to win. I forget the exact exchange, but the ambassador has said he definitely put out a feeler that Humphrey correctly interpreted as an offer of possible future help. Humphrey indicated thanks but no thanks.
