Rove 'offended' by Eastwood's Super Bowl ad - compares it to 'Chicago Politics.'

Karl Rove sees politics written all over Clint Eastwood's new Chrysler ad and even compares it to "Chicago-Style politics."

"I was, frankly, offended by it," Rove said on Fox News today."I'm a huge fan of Clint Eastwood, I thought it was an extremely well-done ad, but it is a sign of what happens when you have Chicago-style politics, and the President of the United States and his political minions are, in essence, using our tax dollars to buy corporate advertising and the best-wishes of the management which is benefited by getting a bunch of our money that they'll never pay back."

Not directly but the add talked about America coming together and that is opposite of what Turdblossom wants.

I have to admit...when Clint first appeared, I was waiting for the big zing. A full minute in, I was sure that Rove and Jeb were gonna pop our of a cake wearing diapers. But...when You saw the Chrysler logos...and remembered that Romney just recently said again, that he would have let Detroit go under...you KNEW what Halftime meant. My guess ifs Bill O'Reilly... Who LIVES Clint...is already in the middle of his 3rd or 4th shit fit. Thoughts at 3 A.M. http://thoughtsatthreeam.blogspot.com/?spref=tw

i.e. Liberals don't support America, and they don't even care or understand that they're coming off that way.

There was nothing offensive in the ad. Clint is a crotchety, old man, who's republican, yes, but old-school - the kind who we haven't seen in a long time - the kind who wants America to come together and work for a better tomorrow and just as importantly have everyone reap the benefits. That does put him outside the mainstream republicans now, which is why Rove is upset, but who is going to win on this issue - the pompous egghead in the suit badmouthing Dirty Harry or Dirty Harry? Rove doesn't know where to pick his fights anymore.

yes? Proof once again that the few remaining sane republicans are one by one repudiated by the crazies currently running that party.

published in 2008 in the NYTimes..

"IF General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye. It won’t go overnight, but its demise will be virtually guaranteed."

"the President of the United States and his political minions are, in essence, using our tax dollars to buy corporate advertising"

The correct way round is, of course, for corporations to buy advertising for their preferred President of the United States.

That would normally be used in a personal attack. There is absolutely nothing personal about that ad. These RW idiots complaining is actually giving the ad more exposure.

As one of biggest offenders of current times he has no room for an opinion. Having pushed a less than desirable person into the WH who was not up to doing the job his opinions are not at the top of the chart. Ad must have struck a nerve, great one.

Rover's on a big money trip these days...thanks to Citizen's United he's got the green light to spend unlimited amounts to pollute the cables and airwaves this year but he's competing with others and Karl never likes to be outdone. He's been frozen out in the clown car derby by other SuperPacs that are getting the attention and the money. Karl knows his suckers well...create a poutrage, send out the fundraising letter and watch the money roll in. It works every time...
