You might have missed it if you were out watching Star Wars, but the Force was with Hillary as she once again displayed her formidable command of world affairs in the third Democratic debate, while Bernie failed to adjust to the post-Paris/San Bernadino state of play in the world and in the campaigns.

The Third Democratic Debate: The Force is With Her
http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2015/12/the-third-democratic-debate-force-is.html
Steve tells you all you really need to know about the third Democratic debate.
.....snip.....
No matter what you ask Bernie Sanders, his answer is that (name of problem goes here) is rooted in the fact that our economic system is rigged, and that greed on Wall Street and the corruption of the democratic process by wealthy donors have caused a massive transfer of American wealth away from the middle class to a soulless, demonic, one-tenth-of-one-percent of the country. In this particular weekend with Bernie, nothing could be solved until this was fixed, and once it was fixed, everything would be solved.
No matter what you ask Martin OMalley, there is absolutely nothing about (name of problem goes here) that he has not already taken on and solved completely in his decade as Mayor of Baltimore and then Governor of Maryland. To hear OMalley tell it, youd think Maryland had the biggest immigration problem in the universe, since he solved every single problem. The Freddie Gray protesters and the writers of The Wire may disagree, but then again, OMalley is performing in an entirely different genre of programming that requires neither accountability nor artfulness.
And no matter what you ask Hillary Clinton, she manages to see just how complex (name of problem goes here) really is, efficiently laying out the contrasting approaches to addressing it, the pros and cons of each, and concluding that, in truth, the only real solution is a combination of all of the above. It demonstrates her command of policy, her flexibility and pragmatic approach to problem solving, and her acknowledgment that complex issues will only be solved if we all figure out how to work together in multi-national coalitions, bipartisan legislation, and actions which embrace all races, religions, and ethnicities. In short, its what you say when your poll numbers have achieved cruising altitude and you have already moved on to the general election, even as your companions on the stage cling to the delusion that there is a nomination to be contested.

(3,425 posts)and how did Bernie vote. Remember that was the war to was the lead up to all these problems in that region.
There were not enough votes to stop the war that would eventually destabilizing the whole region. The leaders of the war should have to face war crime tribunals and while we have no grounds to punish those who voted for it, the least we can do is NOT make one of them the the leader of our country. Oh, and Bernie voted No. What a wise man.

(3,425 posts)In fact, I am embarrassed to say that I do not know exactly what a Jedi is. However, I am about to see my first Star Wars movie when the crowds die down after the holidays. My husband who also knows very little about them suggested that we should see it.

(19,326 posts)they are NOT only that tiny sliver of folks pollsters refer to as "likely Democratic voters", that leaves
out a huge piece of the pie, folks who ARE going to vote in the primary but are excluded from
the polls showing Clinton's leads, i.e. Independents who already have, or will, changed their
registration to D to vote for Bernie, Democrats who have been disaffected and disillusioned so haven't
voted in a while but who love Bernie, and Republicans who are disgusted with the Clown Car who
are likewise changing reg, to vote BERNIE. .. not to mention Millennials with cell phones who
are either left out entirely or are grossly under-counted.
That is what is valuable about these online polls is that it includes unpolled voters who have been
flocking to Sanders campaign since day-one.
JaneyVee
(19,877 posts)99th_Monkey
(19,326 posts)OR is the 'enthusiasm gap' so huge among Clinton supporters that they just can't be bothered
to vote in online polls?
Your argument for the 'irrelevance' of online polls is less than convincing.
JaneyVee
(19,877 posts)People have far more important shit to do than vote in a meaningless online poll.
99th_Monkey
(19,326 posts)Better to rely on polls that only include Party hacks, and excludes disaffected Dems, Independents,
and R's who are changing registrations to D in massive numbers solely so they can vote for
Bernie in the Primary.
Pease proceed.

(19,326 posts)Understandable that you'd want to try to write them off entirely, but also is a bit
disingenuous.
Hell, I don't take online polls as gospel truth either, but they ARE one indicator, just like
the "scientific" polls that leave out huge numbers of Bernie supporters who ARE going
to vote for him in the Primary.
I think they are BOTH useful to a point, and that the actual numbers probably fall
somewhere in between the two
tgards79
(1,415 posts)....always predicting massive underrepresentation of his supporters. And you know how that worked out...

Disney and Koch industries have one major thing in common, they both use E&Y to dodge US Taxes!
How much of this movie's profits will get parked offshort at 0.75% tax, while lobbying for a tax amnesty to repatriate it?

Added for this post...
Half of the time I don't see what group I am in, just responding to the Latest threads. I just write my thoughts--not living in some safe space.
I'm a PoliSci continuing ed student, a neutral, a staunch Democrat who will vote for the Democrat nominee.
I posted a comment geared towards Disney, and the movie's hype, with nothing against HRC.
Yet, I've been banned from the Hillary Group now. Funny, I'm an EFF supporter who views censorship and community differently.
===
But, I do know one thing, the sensitivity to my post was very enlightening and could be discouraging to most.
I posted a reply about someone being banned on another thread, it was apparently on a Sander's Group. It explains more.
===
I'll still remain neutral, voting for Hillary if or when she gets the nomination, and supporting everyone when there is injustice elsewhere here.
A true Democrat will support the nominee, that's the way it should be. Some here, who post things counter is revolting to me. I defended the banning of Manny in an earlier post, as it is Skinner's site and people who profess to be Dems should not act as factions against that cause.
