Conservative Now Means Dumb As A Dirt Clod

I walked by the tee vee while my wife was watching CNN this morning. I heard Ted Cruz name some early primary states, and claim "those are conservative states" and this got me thinking. I imagine by being an American Conservative in a conservative state you have to have the IQ of a dirt clod. No really. I have heard all kinds of people describe "conservatives", and to me it means "a stupid person" who only cares about themselves. Someone who is scared to death of everything, and hates big government, until it is them that needs help, then they are screaming for their handout at the top of their lungs. Very, very, stupid greedy idiots who haven't got a clue about anything. Americans who deny reality, and don't even understand simple math. Today's modern conservatives. Fools. Lemmings. People who celebrate ignorance. Just look at Sarah Palin, and Michelle Bachman for starters. Trump's "birtherism", his rise to Republican fame also counts. Birthers. Gimmee a break. I just call them assholes.

My hats off to Rush, and Murdoch for creating an army if ignorant, fearful, greedy, cowardly otherwise good people. And I haven't said anything about Jeebus. They are scared to death of losing power, and would promote, and believe any lie or distortion to further their destructive cause, and hang onto their "privilege" for a short time longer.

People who call themselves conservatives make me sick. They are not concerned about conserving anything. Especially our planet. They should just rename themselves dumbasses.

My old boss epitomizes what you've written. He is a self-avowed racist. He thinks the Tea Party is the most patriotic group in the US. He thinks government is the problem, and that the "moochers" (for him, only those with significant melanin in their skin) are living off of HIS tax dollars.

So, when he was approaching retirement age, what do you think he did? Yep, you're right! He did all the paperwork necessary to get his Medicare and SS benefits.

The hypocrisy totally escapes him...

They know Wall Street owns the Republicans they vote for.

The call themselves Libertarians, Conservatives, or Tea Party.

All the same pile of jerks, with very little difference.

to dumb down the political discourse, which now consists of screaming insults. It certainly makes it easier to cover the "news", and to sell a puppet candidate to the masses.

I overheard a known GOPer fellow worker wax nostalgic about Reagan's famous "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" quote. He guffawed with his fellow GOP workers.

But I've been thinking about this conservative value for some time. If you "hate government," then how do you address the needs of the commonweal? If you don't have "big government" then you have..."big corporation."

That's what Reaganism was all about: denouncing government in favor of corporations. After all, the government is the only force standing between corporations and the people. Make the people hate government and they embrace the "freedom" of corporate rule.

And is big corporation addressing the needs of the American people? Hardly. Big corporation exists to benefit big corporation. Period.

But to hear GOPers, we are all victims of big government!

Oh, and this GOP fellow worker works in a public institution and has the benefit of a public pension plan, not to mention Social Security. In other words, when he retires, he'll have a pension, SS, etc., all provided to him by Big Government.

They just don't understand...

I agree with you whole heartedly, but you have the other end which are really rich people that don't want to pay their fair share.
