<...>
Perhaps another presidential candidate to jump in on the "game of addition" was Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders over the weekend. On CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday, the senator explained that he could win over Trump's working class and middle class supporters with his economic policy proposals -- a "smart" move by the senator, according to Noonan.
"He's looking at all the voters and he's thinking, 'I'm a left-wing populist but we have a lot in common with right-wing populists they like Trump,'" Noonan said. "'I'm going to go straight to Trump's guys and say don't just think him, think me. I share some of your views, your antagonisms and your insights, we all hate Wall Street, you know?'"

(5,856 posts)that some of Trump supporters could actually be to the left of Hillary supporters when it comes to corruption. And to convince one of them to vote for someone as inclusive and anti-bigotry as Bernie would be quite the coup.

(22,165 posts)people worship the wealthy and capitalism. They don't care what Trump says as much as what he stands for which is rich, rich, rich.

(42,862 posts)... can whittle away from Hillary's supporters, and that there aren't enough undecided votes that can help him, and that even if O'Malley suspended his campaign, there still aren't enough votes for Bernie to win the nomination.
He's certainly welcome to try and find crossover support during the primary, but it all points to a campaign that knows it's in trouble (despite the bumper sticker enthusiasm).

(45,319 posts)were raging anti gay bigots. He employed persons who had called LGBT vampires and child killers. He went on and on about reaching out to people we do not always agree with. Obama went to their places and spoke their anti gay language to them. He had rallies with McClurkin and Caldwell and Warren. His supporters at that time strongly defended his use of roiling gay baiting hate mongers. 'This is war, the gloves MUST come off, they are trying to kill our children' one of them said on 700 Club.
Want so video clips of the events posted? Want some links to the nasty shit DUers said to LGBT about it? We can do that for you, and we could do it all day if you want.
Hypocrites make me sick. No offense of course.

(45,319 posts)to you. My post is about the double standard you and your cohort are indulging in and the fact that it allows others to compare this cycle with the last and spotlight the homophobic posters oh so well. Glad you find that funny because it just demonstrates my point.
From Hillary Clinton's outreach to Rick Warren's congregation in 08;
Hillary Clinton:
"And first, [applause] let me first say how relieved Bill and I were to hear that Saddleback was spared from the recent wildfires - and how impressed and moved we were to hear about the love and support that you gave those who were not so fortunate.
It's another example of the way in which this church is not measured by numbers. Yes, the numbers are big, they're certainly impressive. But it's measured by your impact. It's measured by the meaning that you give to lives here within this complex and so far beyond its boundaries. And the commitment that you demonstrate both to our faith in God and to doing His work here on earth is exemplary and that is one of the many reasons that I wanted to be here today.
You know, Rick has helped so many people with his lessons for a 40-day spiritual journey. But he knows those 40 days are just the beginning. My own faith journey is approaching a half a century, and I know how far I still have to go."

(30,439 posts)Your focus on what DUers say is nothing more than whiney meta.
You want to post links about what DUers said anout Donnie McGlurkin 8 years ago? Go for it.
I really don't care.

(45,319 posts)suggest that such persons reconsider their politics? How does that work? Attacking me personally does not really make your point, it makes my point which is you have double standards.
Cali_Democrat
(30,439 posts)That's fine.
I can understand that you miss the meta forum, but it really added nothing to this place.
BTW, I'm curious, did you really save links to what DUers said 8 years ago?
LOL.
That would be kinda creepy IMO.

(45,319 posts)Bernie, why pandering to bigots so actively and openly by Hillary is fine with you if you can't stand the idea of Bernie asking for Republican votes as well. This is about the candidates, about the fact that many of you seem to use a special rule book for Bernie. Perhaps it is just that you give 'Christians' permission to trash talk LGBT?
Hillary is going to have to address this shit.

(45,319 posts)I can see why you would. But she's the candidate, not me. You keep attacking me for pointing out the facts. That will not change the facts.
Hillary went to Rick Warren's Church and smooched Rick's behind to win his support and that of his congregation. You say that is fine but Bernie Sanders must not ask Republicans to vote for him. Explain why the two candidates have different rules.
Attacking me does not explain your hypocritical double standard. And it does not bother me at all.
If you need to flail like that, please flail away. But also, Hillary did this reaching out to bigots thing. It's called politics. Attacking me will not make your random ethics into a consistent principle.
Cali_Democrat
(30,439 posts)You said you can post those links all day.
Please do!
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)You are bashing at Bernie for doing what Hillary did far more of. Double standards.
Keep attacking me to avoid addressing your candidate's actions. Good stuff.

Of course you also can type and also have DU search tools available to you.
Now what about Hilllary's 'reaching out' to the bigots at Saddleback?

(30,439 posts)I'm gonna need to see more links, but that shouldn't be a problem because you said you can provide them all day.
BTW, Obama is not running for President in 2016 in case you haven't heard.
Not sure what those links about Obama have to do with my OP.
LOL.

(246 posts)She was on CBS This Morning on Friday doing a dry run. Essentially, she made the same point. When is CBS This Morning going to have a Dem analyst on the parse about the campaign? All I ever see on the program is Noonan and Frank Luntz - both staunch Republicans. "Liberal media" strikes again!
