Whether or not the loser "concedes" is irrelevant. Conceding defeat is NOT part of the legal kestrel91316 Sep 2012 #4

The opponent does not have to concede for a victory to occur.

The GOP's right on the edge of coming apart at the seams completely, and I'd love to see someone there do something just stupid enough to collapse their whole structure.

He can act like a child all he wants but when he loses, he loses. He can pretend he won if he likes but no one will care.

process of elections in the US.

The votes determine the winner. Not statements by candidates.

Expect, three days after the election when Obama has 350-plus electoral votes and half the red states are going "gee, can't we write in Richard Petty or someone?" Romney to say something on the order of "when all the votes have been counted, we expect to emerge victorious."

It won't change the fact that Obama will remain president, but Smirk Jr. over there will never admit he lost.

he'll probably spend the next four years acting like he's president, and wondering why the guards won't let him into the White House.

Mitt certainly strikes me as more than capable of that kind of petty snub.

But Obama's going to win at least 300 EVs. It's not going to be close. Even if he never goes on TV and faces the nation to admit defeat, he's still going to have lost, and short of attempting a coup, there's nothing he can do about it.
