Republicans Don’t Want The Federal Reserve To Help The Economy

The question regarding whether or not the GOP wants the economy to improve was answered today when they criticized the Federal Reserve for “QE3?.

The Federal Reserve announced today that it was going to buy $40 billion dollars worth of mortgage backed securities per day in order to help the flagging construction industry and overall economy.

The Republicans said they don’t like this idea and believe the Federal Reserve is doing this for political reasons in order to re elect President Obama by strengthening the economy.

“It is really is interesting that it is happening right now before an election,” said Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho). “It is going to sow some growth in the economy, and the Obama administration is going to claim credit.”

They don't want it because they think it'll help Obama get reelected.

I don't want it because I think it'll further erode our economic health.

Same goal, different justification.

4. The only problem with this move

is that it may very well not be too effective. We have all this money injected into the economy, and it hasn't resulted in much happening, although earlier it most likely saved us from another Great Depression. But it's very lack of effectiveness means these moves are relatively safe when it comes to worrying about inflation.

I think that we need more fiscal stimulus, especially public infrastructure investments. Bernanke seemed to hint at that kind of thing himself. A much more robust program of principal reduction for those with underwater mortgages would help too.

Rethuglicans are vile pieces of puke spewed from a snake's ass. As a homeowner who has been struggling to get out of a bad Mortgage, I can't believe these assholes are mad someone is finally coming along to offer me some real relief.

I say this all the time I don't vote Republican because Republicans do not want my vote!
