I don't use Facebook, and my sister (who is no doubt still sleeping as I write this) didn't provide a link. Perhaps someone here on DU who uses Facebook can find this page and add the link.
Anyway, here's what my sister wrote in the email, along with the images she shared ...
Here are some of the memes I saw:
All good, but I especially like the last one. Who needs promotion when you have power in numbers?

(3,920 posts)There is also a Republicans for Hillary page. Bernie's gets about 19000 likes and 90000 "talking about." Hillary 322 and 4200. For what that is worth.
Damn, I hardly ever look at Facebook any more.

(10,495 posts)Many Republicans are tired of big corporations screwing them too and choking their small businesses. After they see Bernie's policy proposals they can see his way will be much better than anyone else's.

(9,654 posts)did it because they realized the healthcare industry was rigged
that after age 40 (the time most folks start needing some healthcare) the costs SKYROCKETED
they wanted that fixed, since the aca charges older folks 3 times what it cost younger folks, they still want it fixed
Autumn

Recovering Republicans for Bernie Sanders (Community) https://m.facebook.com/recoveringrepublican2012/
Those are the top groups on Facebook. There are others but these are the most popular and most liked and commented upon.
And lots of neat stuff pops up if you FB search: #RepublicansforBernie.
And yes, doing a quick scan of these groups, the intent does seem legitimately serious.
People are people , regardless of their political bent , and everyone wants the best for their family . This is a long overdue outreach needed on both sides of the political spectrum .

(57,349 posts)And he got their votes by being honest, not by pandering to bigots. Hillary supporters claim Bernie is selling us out to Trump's racist fans in order to get their votes but they're full of it.
The latest poutrage about Bernie reaching across the aisle is amusing at best and staggeringly hypocritical at worst considering Hillary's 2008 campaign.

Both Republicans and Democrats in the middle class see Bernie as someone who will tackle this issue.
People are fed up.

(1,976 posts)Bernie's message is consistent. If that message appeals to new voters and draws them to the left then that's a good thing. Otoh, the Third Wayers have continuously chased voters to the right taking the Dem Party with them.

(2,975 posts)though I'm also a bit skeptical, it wasn't that long ago that there were right wing pundits encouraging their audiences to vote Bernie to stymie hillary, and....though I'd like to believe this is sincere sensibility on the issues and bridge building, and I'll certainly try and keep an open mind, forgive me if I don't turn handsprings of unity celebration juuuuuust yet.
On edit, to clarify....
Given I believe Bernies chances in the GE are superior to Hillarys...I'm not sure I CARE if it's sincere or not, if I can get a racist to march for someone that will work their hardest to destroy the racism and classism that divides us? Forward fucking march, there, soldier.

(53,475 posts)... Bernie's supporters are clever. Oh noes!
Based on Bernie's track record in Vermont, support from actual Republicans seems likely.

(5,621 posts)the Republicans that we most hear about are the crazies. The sane repubs stay out of the limelight, keep their heads down and continue on with life. I'm not even sure any one knows what the repub party stands for. And, if we are really looking at parties, I'm not sure what the dem party stands for any more either.
I do know that my ex-in-laws in the mid 90's quit the repub party (they were big donors) because of religion creeping into the party. There views on things were your typical Reagan talking points, but the Christianity thing REALLY bothered them, and they donated a pipe organ to a church, so they weren't anti-Christian.
I can see a number of middle of the road repubs voting for Bernie, especially since he is not the establishment.

(3 posts)I want to know why the sane Republicans aren't taking their party back from the crazies. If the Democratic Party is maintaining an iron grip on its nominating process despite that 'Democratic unity' is an oxymoron, why can't the march-in-lockstep Republican Party take some control over their nominating process? If there's any sanity there, where in hell is it?
zalinda
(5,621 posts)hasn't taken back the dem party. When the people who run the party are also banking on certain candidates to further their ambitions, well you get what they want to give you, no matter what the common person wants.

(5,400 posts)And we can't afford Democratic defections in those states. And of course there's the Independents.
On top of that we need a great voter turnout. All the disaffected, and the young, new, voters need to turn out so we can credibly claim to have some kind of a mandate.
All the districts that can go either way need a galvanizing candidate leading our ticket.
