We must focus on the Congress now. There are so many close races, and I'd forgotten to mention Grayson. We must get him in the winning circle, along with so many other congressional candidates, Gill, P. Murphy, Bera, Graves...

Add candidates I missed.

Our (sig. other and myself) have contributed 2 month's worth of COLA to all of them combined. It's imperative to get the good guys in these positions, no matter which house they come from.

Particularly since both ties are in blue states and Maine is not really a tie - Angus King is independent but will likely caucus with Dems, particularly if Dems are the majority without him.

very important to donate to the race(s) of choice in both houses.

As Romney said of Obama supporters, I'm of the 47% who is dependent on the US govt. for assistance. That is because I work for the U.S. Govt. I look at it as throwing good money after good candidates.

I still blame Kent Conrad for his selfish decision to retire this year. If it wasn't for him leaving the North Dakota seat vulnerable, the Senate wouldn't be at risk right now.

nb - I recognize the desirability of a pickup in Indiana, but Donnelly voted for a Republican bill to bar funding for PP.

Didn't Bill Casey (D-PA) vote with the Republicans on a similar bill in the Senate earlier this year? And I think Joe Manchin (D-WV) did something similar.

The reality is that we are going to have some Blue Dog Democrats in the Senate in more Republican-leaning states. We aren't going to agree with them on everything, but the reality is that it is still better to have a Democrat than a Republican in order to maintain the Senate.

...I haven't given them money, and they don't really need it.

I don't disagree with the need to bring Blue Dogs into the tent, but I do have a couple of threshold points (in the last cycle, DADT and ACA). The bottom line that I'm spending every $ the FEC allows me to, but I can't cover every candidate, so I give to the competitive campaigns I'm in sync with.

...and I find it interesting that Obama, who opposed the "Let's go to Iraq!" vote, 'knighted" those that didn't. And so it goes.

However, we deal w/what we have, and there are some really bad eggs in the GOP congressional pot.

I didn't list Clayton of TN because he's the equivalent of his opponent. The $$ is better spent elsewhere.

I, too, am only giving to the close races. Now that some GOP candidates are backing away from Mitt to save themselves, it's a clear sign the dems have a great chance to lead in the squeakers.
