When I was in grad school at Oklahoma State University. I was one of the few caucasians in the Hispanic/Latin clubs (one of my undergrad degrees was Spanish). One year for the kick-off for Hispanic Heritage Month, we spent the day eating omelets and making cascarones that we filled with bird seed (to make clean-up easier - in other words, let the birds handle it). I spent a lot of time drawing Superman symbols, Disney characters, and a portrait of Selena on them.

Since then, I've gone to San Antonio's big fiesta in April twice - each time with a different friend. Whenever we found a cascaron stand, I bought a couple and waited for my friend to ask, "What are those for?" Why, let me show you... *CRACK*

Good times.
