I'm going on a road trip with my two daughters...I want to stop in Seneca Falls on the way to Boston

My oldest daughter is moving to New Hampshire this weekend.
We're filling up two cars and moving her clothes and belongings
from Detroit to New Hampshire....

She's already got a job lined up and is moving into a furnished
apartment with her boyfriend.

I think it would be fun to spend the night there, see the Women's History
museum, Elizabeth Cady Stanton's house et. al.

My question is, have any of you been to Seneca Falls as a destination?

This seems like the perfect opportunity.

Here's the statue of Amelia Bloomer introducing
Elizabeth Cady Stanton to her friend, Susan B. Anthony.

This is either great timing or terrible timing!

Stanton is one of my heroes, so it will be wonderful to be there to celebrate her 200th birthday.

Better secure a room BEFORE we take off.

Thank you, and thanks to handpuppet, too.

I am from Texas and was in Rochester several years back for my grandson's graduation from RIT, wanted to so go Seneca Falls, but could not fit in our schedule. Want to go up in that area again and do some serious sight seeing, it is so pretty and so different from Texas.

Rochester NY for almost 30 years. Mom is still in the Hospitality/Tourism industry there so kind of grew up with the history of the region. Also familiar with your road route.

You are going to come across 90 right?

You have to pass Rochester to get out to Seneca Falls - and it's not even an hour away.

Stop here first: http://susanbanthonyhouse.org/index.php. I think they are open on Saturday.

Then head to Seneca. Never been as a "destination" per se - but I have most definitely been there!

Another interesting woman that is of interest in Central NY - http://harriethouse.org/

Psst - Buff to Roch is Western NY. Syracuse are is Central NY. Don't tell the folks in NYC but they don't like the "upstate" thing. . Live in NJ now but . . . I still say "we are different out west".
