Losing respect for people that I liked. It seems to be a particular characteristic of this site.

womens issues to put up this post about the white man our savior.

men that have continually told me they know what we need better than us. what our issues should be cause we are all wrong. and i think they are pretty good being oblivious with their white male privilege with our black community also.

what a fuckin insult. all the way around.

Not that it is mine to support. It is a giant middle finger to women and PoC on this site.

Some have other priorities. I have stopped participating in there because of things like this. It is no longer a useful group, in my opinion. I wish it were otherwise.

That is the most ridiculous memes I've seen in a while-- excellent response BTW.

What's true irony--the real deal-- is "The Old White Guy" continues to be privileged, to be completely ahead of the game in this regard. No political ideology changes that. I suspect Senator Sanders, if he is everything he's made out to be, would not only acknowledge this, but be offended at the promotion of his campaign at the expense of POC and women.

All in the name of supporting one, which is not what the alleged hero in such groups would do.

If I wanted to read post after post of Democratic Party bashing, instead of promoting a candidae, I'd visit Rush or another rightwing site.

I just got effectively booted from the Sanders camp after my post replying to someone with a link. At that time, there was only one post there, using a perjorative about HRC and sig lines mockeing Dems and Obama, in what some may see as subtle, but I am sick to death of it after having those themes played out in the most vile, vicious and discouraging way ever on DU for the past few years.

But I will not post at most of the 'Democrats' groups for that reason. I have been very enthused about Sander's mission for years and this run, and then got flamed for saying my opinion of the new group. In retrospect, being the announcement, I should not have commented on the negativity in the first.

As said in this thread, it 'hurt.' I do want Sanders more than HRC, he is my primary choice.

Having said and voting that way in a DU poll, I now feel estranged from both groups. I will note, though, some HRC fans were leaning toward Sanders in the last few days, saying let's have that primary and let it decide and if Sanders wins, I'll vote for him, has not resulted in the magnamity that Sanders has and I want to see. Those who said they will NOT vote if HRC gets the nod, show the difference in the groups.

And another posted, 'gee, I'm now wanting both HRC and Sanders. 'That is the kind of thing I think this had a chance of doing here at DU, uniting on issues. Now that chance is blown. Some who support non-HRC candidates have not eased up on the name calling. They call me a turd wayer, centrist, corporatist, etc. and even an Obama bootlicker for daring to support HRC. Makes it kind of hard to join the party when you are plainly being villified by those who don't know just how much some of us have supported Bernie.

I won't do what I was going to do, post articles and videos of Bernie with transcripts that support his mission at DU, but I will elsewhere where these games are not played.

I do NOT feel welcome by his supporters after today. I'd be flamed for posting anything for Sanders. Now there are some supportive and positive posts but after the fury, I WILL NOT go there. I was going to post to support Bernie (done that for years) in GD and post videos as I always have. Not gonna happen now, which is no great loss, no doubt.

When I see groups of members who have been banned from HOF, the BOG, etc., who just post one post after another to bash HRC, Obama, etc., I know that I am dealing with someone or a group more interested in abusing the good name of EW, BS or whoever to do what those people would never do.

So what does a person like that really want posting at DU? Why the instant attack mode, snarking and refusal to discuss data on candidates instead of negative media hype, when one tries to engage in good faith with them?

Such things are what trolls do. They may not be trolls per se, but the behavior is such.

After today, when I was happy that Sanders was announcing, looking forward to see if he could build a coalition to become the president. But to have seen what seabeyond and I have seen, I have to agree with her. She gets the big picture.

But isn't that the purpose of RF against Democrats? To discourage, divide, get them fighting with each other and more importantly, NOT VOTE?

I support Greens or any other group getting in the primary with Bernie. But I'm excluded now, because I dared to support HRC, and before that, Obama. I find a person who says they support a Democrat in overdrive by flaying alive another Democrat, very suspect. Because it's RF 2.01. I will not play that game.

JMHO.

Your second post was outstanding, and I will likely go back and save it for its excellent points.

BTW, if you want to refer others to YOUR post instead of an entire thread as you link, go to the bottom of your post, click the 'Permalink' option then it will offer the 'Link to post in thread'option. At that juncture, the address above the thead in your browser is your post alone and it saves others the time of reading through a thread to find you post. FYI.

I carefully read through that whole thread, and while I was happy to see some Sanders supporters reject it the meme, and it was locked, any defense was untenable, and degraded to personal attack in at least one instance quickly. I'm sad to see that.

I'm voting for the Democratic nominee. I understand the primaries are going to be difficult, but tossing women and POC as well as GBLT folk under the bus, as we've seen in recent threads is a huge step backwards.

As a broad rule of thumb, I stay out of such debates in general principle, because as you say, seeing certain names or packs of people (and they are rarely in a thread but to stir shit) makes one question their actual motivation.
