dancing sexy as hell...warm up cute as hell. what do we do with all of a female, with one word.

boys boys boys...

sexy as hell.

i watched this video. it looks to me like she is loosening up and feeling the power in her muscles, body... what an athlete does.

excellent form, power, performance, accomplishment. and all in a joy of excellent. this is what i wrote in a post.... having it pointed out and it dawning on me what is done to this gal.

everything about the video is a thumbs up.... her personality she is projecting. her happiness. her focus. her style. her ability. her win. and her joy in participating.

everything about it was cute.

thinking about this, by adding sexy, it is now not about her, but about the boys boys boys, and what she gives the boys. it is about them.

this is the pornification of our girls. when adding the word sexy, we have now changed the camera view in our mind.

she no longer owns all that she is. it is merely taken from her. she is now all about the men.

her smile is to turn them on. not her joy. her moving of the hips in dance is to excite the men, not to feel the power in her body. her hurtle is not about form, power, strength and style.

her win.... is not hers, but boys boys boys.

so, what do you think. i thought this interesting. with all this girl has, i thought there was no reason to take it to this. i thought it would have been better, if they allowed her her own empowerment instead of reducing her to.....

a fuck, even in a cute way.

that simple.

athlete burning off nervous energy before the race. She was obviously happy and having fun doing that. That joy of competition and happiness showed throughout the video. Is that attractive? Sure. But it just made me smile a whole lot and be happy for her as she competed and won. I have the same reaction to watching a professional dancer who is really enjoying the dance. Energy, joy, and youth. That's my impression of the video.

in this case tends to reduce the whole thing to the narrow reaction of a male viewer, and minimizes everything else. The video is of the competition and the participants. It has nothing to do with anything else, in my opinion. Further, the music used in it detracted from the video, as well. This was her moment, not anyone else's moment.

Disgusting and terribly insulting.

The athletes are phenomenal, but the music degrading.

Is this some amateur thing or was it on a network? Can you give some context to this?

She is beautiful in the same way as Usain Bolt is beautiful, a gloriously honed body performing to the near its limits guided by a consciousness that enjoys the physical challenge and the chance of success.

And what the video maker has done is to force his(?) imaginings onto that image without thought for the subject of the fantasy.

Watch it with the sound off and enjoy the beauty and vivaciousness of Ms Jenneker's exploit

Well if she was bumping and grinding and giving come hither looks, it'd be appropriate.

But this... in this context it serves to remind us that a woman is, first and foremost - yes, that's right - a sex object. Something that Hugh Hefner and his fans truly believe that women are. And they think it's a compliment.

fuck you all and continue on. this is what happens with this kind of attention a lot of times. the girls/women internalize it and can no longer be authentic to self.

I was all over it. Wendy O Williams, Madonna, Salt N Peppa... any woman who flaunted her sexuality, that's who I wanted to be like, because Fuck Them.

Wasn't until much later that I realized that as long as the patriarchy is in place, all that does is play into their hands. The game is rigged so long as the patriarchy is in charge.

Fri Jul 20, 2012, 03:20 PM

she is being true to herself. getting in the spirit of her race. feeling and pumping the joy of the run, with her moves in warm up.... she is not imitating the madonna to own her sexuality. she is only being herself to perform her race in a competitive manner.

now.... someone has sexualized it. now, she is seeing it differently. now, she is putting that sexualized eye on what she did.

now, what does she do.

does she repress the joy and freedom of warming up the way she always has? does that effect her performance. take away some of the joy. make her repress?

or does she say, fuck you all, turning me into a sexual thing, when really i am doing my thing. ignore the taunts and catcalls of it. and continue what she wants to do. being her authentic self.

that is what the men get, or not get.... that when they take the behavior of a girl, and sexualize her to a fuck, that they are taking something from her. if she knows. how does she internalize.

yours was to be a part of the ownership of your sexuality.... really enabling all this bullshit. because it cannot be done. (now in thought i am having a harder time distinguishing the lines. that happens sometimes in exploring an issue. it gets more messy, before the bottomline.)

it would be the same as a girl walking down the street, being in self, feeling the lite and joy of life. and getting taunts. a cloud over head..... no longer as lite. she puts her head down to not draw attention to herself. she internalizes. her behavior is changed because she does not want that attention.

She was and she did it on purpose. Never in my life have I seen any female track and field athlete do dance hip shakes and shoulder wiggles as part of the pre-race warm up. Frankly, I was annoyed by it because to me it DID look purposely sexy. I would have far more appreciated her as an athlete rather than her own antics and outfit bringing to mind the cute shot girl at the local bikini bar and the grand finale of seeing her pick her underwear out of her ass crack full on camera. Thanks to her own antics and outfit choice though I recall she won the race all I can remember about it is her ass, and I feel like I should be tucking dollar bills in her panties.

I will NEVER appreciate all the female athletes in any sport that seem to have a need to reduce their outfit to essentially a two piece bathing suit. Are there no female sports left anymore where their ass cheeks aren't hanging out of nothing but a pair of "athletic underwear"??? Where are the men playing volleyball or running track or playing tennis or basketball, etc. in olympic or pro sports that have their ass cheeks hanging out??? Used to be we only had to suffer the female gymnasts and swimmers yanking their panties out of their ass cracks on camera, but now suddenly there don't seem to be any female sports left where the women are wearing more than what is essentially a bra and underpants. Hell, lately the male swimmers and divers are wearing full body long legged unitards to race and dive in rather than the little speedo panties that was the only male sport where they were wearing essentially their underwear while the female athletes are suddenly stripping down and letting it all hang out... and now here's little miss cutsie track and field star doing stripper hip shakes and shoulder wiggles as part of her pre-race warm up. Jeez. Now when I want to watch female sports I not only have to try looking past their underwear they can't keep their butts in that they have some deep desire to show off but also suffer them shaking and wiggling T&A at me like they want a tip?

Women athletes: I DO NOT WANT TO SEE YOUR ASS. I watch you to appreciate your strength, skill and athleticism, not your butt or your midriff or your breasts. I DEFINITELY don't want to watch you pick your panties out of your ass crack anymore than I want to watch you wipe your rear after taking a crap. If you can't keep your ass cheeks in your outfit, then wear something that your butt doesn't fall out of. This shit really makes me wonder what they want me to be paying attention to - their strength, skill and athleticism or their bodies, and frankly, women competing in their underwear that can't keep their butt in it have WAY too much interest in showing off their sexuality rather than their sport.

knowing some of your experiences in life and then listening to what you have to say, makes me want to listen to you so much more.

having been in athletics for so long and also used dance, music, weights, isometrics as exercise in later years..... i can see what she is doing. is there a little play? sure. i can also see me walking down the hall, with music on, and just going into that myself to pump the blood thru my muscles.

my cross country/track son watched. he was ok, but then the continual repeating of the move, he backed off and said, no really, nto this much. a little was normal. i told him tape was repeating dance, and he was back to ok with it. but, ya, there was definitely play.

i couldnt agree with you more on the outfits worn. i have had this conversation with boys.... pisses me off, too. i watch those girls running and told son, one gal lost a lot of time in her race, continually pulling the bottom piece out of her butt as she was running around the track. agreed. and stupid. guys have a loose tank top and granted, very short shorts, but loose short shorts. and the girls in their bikini things.

back in my day, there is no option for the swimsuit and the always pulling them down. but, it was equal gender thing going on. everyone was exposed. just the way it was and there was an acceptance and if anyone took it to sexual, their ass would have been had.

thanks for your post.

whereas this girl is not putting the sexuality out there, but being defined regardless and that becoming who she is.

Who knows how she'll deal with it... I'm sure it won't affect her performance because by that age I'm sure she's well used to it.
