And then just log out.

Sorry that you don't like it here, if that's the case.

Sometimes people just need a break, or use the ignore feature if they're being bullied or harassed.

Good luck!

I have tried ignore, I have tried blocking people, but this new group to DU is NASTY! I guess I just need to quit coming here for Democratic discourse. Some of these folks are crazy.

Do you know how to do that, not just blocking members but turning off forums?

Even if you trash GD, you're left with a lot of other groups, take a look: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forums

Some folks just stay in the lounge or one of the Activism groups: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1007

And the different interest groups, cooking, gardening, photography, there's lots to do.

I hope you've been alerting on nasty replies, but I also know that the juries don't consistently remove insults.

Sorry!

I came here about 2 years before I joined. I liked what I saw, but the past 6 months it seems like it is has become a very nasty place.

I've been here a while, since 2007, served as a moderator, know how ugly people can be.

It breaks my heart, it really does, to see how mean people can be.

Find friends, call on them, and as cyberswede suggests, visit the other groups, etc.

We don't want to lose you!

There is a lot of hate going on in our world today and some of it leaks here.....
My criticism today was that you offer solutions rather than just problems...
The last thing we want to do here is drive someone like you away.

So please accept my apologies and continue bringing info to the group..

There are so many professionals which hide under people like yourself.. Hired to post
right wing lies by Right Wing hate groups..

Stay around please..

10. I am going to stick with the pet forum for a while, friendly people there.

I have tried solutions, there is a group here who are so paranoid of trolls they go after people who are trying to make a difference. It is hard to do that down here but I give it my best shot. I knock on doors, make calls, do mailings. I go to city meetings and committee meetings to make sure our position is at least heard. I live in the big red state, number one I think, so what I do is important to the party here.

Very very discouraged. I've been hanging around for years, just joined a year or so ago. The tenor of the "debate" here has really changed in the past few years. The good people are dying or leaving...

I wouldn't want to be so cold I have no feeling whatsoever. There's no point in being obnoxious and making nasty comments. If people can't argue without whatever this other person is getting, what's the point? Unless you're 6 years old. And a bully.
