"The Master" directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Is it great or is it pretty good? I watched the start of it again just to remind me of what I had watched before.

The performances were great. Joaquin now looks so much like Montgomery Clift in the late 50s.

I so wanted to see this movie after watching previews. This was exactly the type of movie I would ever want to see. But I was disappointed with my first viewing. It was disjointed, with no real point, other than the main character, a violent mess and the charlatan having some kind of bonding.

I wanted to love this movie, but I didn't, and I hope that I'm wrong about it in the end. I want this to be a great movie, and to learn what I missed.
