First Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Arrives

With so much focus this year on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok films plus the first push for Black Panther, fans have been waiting the most for the first footage from Avengers: Infinity War that’s part of the “ending” aspect of the first chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With word that the second part due out in 2019 will be seeing the end of stories for certain characters (largely due to contracts becoming expensive and the need to not rely on the same characters being dealt with), there’s a lot riding on this and they could be huge films, especially as these are the first Avengers films not by Joss Whedon.

What did you think of the trailer?

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Benicio del Toro as Taneleer Tivan / The Collector, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Josh Brolin as Thanos.

Plot concept: After the events of Captain America: Civil War, the Avengers remain fractured into two separate factions. However, nothing could prepare both sides for the biggest threat they’ve ever faced: the mad-titan Thanos who will stop at nothing to claim the Infinity Stones and subjugate the universe.

I remember how good the first Age of Ultron trailer was (with the "I have no strings on me" music), and that movie was good, but not great, so I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but the whole thing gave me the chills.

Unfortunately I can only watch it on a small screen now, and I can't figure out what's going on with Tony in the first few seconds. Is he holding someone who was presumably killed?

Definitely a lot of interesting stuff there; really curious to see what we learn about Ant-Man and Wasp since it'll be a post-Infinity film and there'll be clues from there.
