I liked it better than the book. Also loved the scenes from Antarctica.

of Palmer station and penguins were stock footage. The rest was filmed in Greenland.

I kept wishing I could have gone farther to the continent and south when I went to Antarctica.

It excised huge chunks of the novel and the narrative was problematic. Structurally, it was a mess.

"Don't trust critics" is the same as "don't trust experts" when you get down to it. You have to partially realize that they're looking at a film different from how a regular viewer will, just like experts will in their own field.

I didn't read the book so it didn't matter to me that parts were "excised."

I liked the narrative and structure, thought they worked well.

Oh, well.

It leans into that don't trust journalists
don't trust experts
don't trust anyone
