I had the wonderful experience of seeing him live on Broadway in 2006, with Julianne Moore, performing in The Vertical Hour.
Love his work. One of my favorite pics is The Girl in The Cafe.

So of course I had to watch Girl in the Cafe twice.
Given both she and Bill N were in the movie.

That is so great you saw BN in person.

Have you seen THEIR FINEST?

BN was brilliant in his role.
It is about a film crew in WWII UK trying to boost British morale.

When I went to the play... The Vertical Hour. I had a seat in the orchestra 6th row on the aisle.
During a couple of Nighy's monologues he made direct eye contact with me. I was so starstruck that it was as if Will Smith had used the brain erase gadget from MIB on me. I don't remember a word of the play....LOLOL.

I'm such a nerd.

From IMdb:

Kazuo Ishiguro had dreamed of doing a remake of Ikiru (1952) in English with Bill Nighy for many years. One night, he and his wife ended up sharing a cab with Nighy after a party, and he pitched the idea. Nighy had never seen Ikiru, but once he watched it, he enthusiastically signed on to the project.
