What Are Eating Disorders?

...Eating Disorders are not easy, but we are here to discuss ...food addictions, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, compulsive overeating, as well as body image issues.. If you have some other aspects of an Eating Disorder Problem, then you are welcome to. Another one is total obsession about food, and what to eat and when to eat.
.... Any aspect of food that is bothering you and causes total mental pain, worry and obsession. And
obsession...and definition of that is up to you!!!..We know who we are, and you are welcome here to discuss any aspect of this problem..
....I started going to Overeaters Anonymous 40 years ago, but I had food obsessions long before that...Gain weight, loose weight..gain it again, and lose it again.....
...After a while being in OA. I threw out the scale and found some other worries..At least the worry
and obsession is gone, but I need to say that being at a normal weight, for a very long time, has helped
me to stay alive and reasonably healthy..Had a lot of surgeries, but got thru them all...And it ain't easy. If it were easy, then it would be ...easy..

After experiencing chronic hunger when I was very young and being food insecure into my teens, I started binging food whenever possible.

By the time I was a young adult, the binging had stopped (though the 3-5 pm hour is dangerous). I’ve been dieting ever since (about 30 years). I’ve gained and lost 100s of pounds. I’ve been calorie counting the last couple years and think about what I can eat ALL the time.

I have no idea what it would be like not to think of food constantly. Tried hypnosis. I exercise. I work long hours at a busy professional job. I have a family I take care of. I have lots of things to keep me busy, but there is always the thought of food in the back of my mind.

...It really does not matter if it is this food or that food...in the end, we are....FOOD ADDICTS

...i got older and my weight became controlled, but I am still a ........FOOD ADDICT!!!....yes, ..............

your words, ......",,,but there is always the thought of food in the back of my mind"............YES, THAT IS IT!!!!

Just so you know,,,and you probably do know.......there are millions more of us in the U.S.A.......!!!!!!

YES...many, many millions more....all kinds of food addicts.....because .....we get addicted very young and it doesn't go away!!!

I started going to Overeaters Anonymous in 1979....(some time ago) I still think of food a lot of the time...Yes, the thoughts are very unpleasant, but I don't act on them..most of the time.....

And it is still a ..ONE DAY AT A TIME PROBLEM....and that is all we can do, is .......One Day At A Time................
..............(sometime one moment at a time)...................................................oh, ....one more thought........
...............It ain't easy....If it were easy to beat this problem, it would be easy...IT AIN'T EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!
