Eating Disorders are a Huge Problem in the United States of America.

Last edited Sat Feb 17, 2024, 02:00 AM - Edit history (5)

.........................Perhaps the largest health problem in the U.S.A...................................
So many people in the U.S.A. are Obese and Overweight. This is one of the most important health problems in our country..
And we are not talking about a few thousand people...My guess is that at least 40 million of us in the U.S.A. have this problem.
I was once 60 pounds overweight. I know what compulsive eating is all about.......I weighed 210 pounds and lost 60
pounds and kept that weight off for 40 years....Yes, I kept it off for a very long time and have.........NEVER GAINED IT BACK...

.................If I had not lost that weight, I would not be here to write these words. Overeating is one of the worst addictions that
we can have.. It isn't like booze drinking.....Why?...Everyone knows booze is addictive.
.. But OVEREATING..IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF A PROBLEM....... IT is not the same as booze, because booze is a well known problem...Overeating is not that well known or reported as much as booze.is. And Overeating is a far worse problem that affects far more people than booze..
How many people in the U.S.A. are overweight??....I don't know....You tell me, and.The NUMBER IS IN THE TENS OF MILLIONS.....

............OVEREATING IS PERHAPS THE WORST HEALTH PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES..I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE,
BUT IT COULD BE THE WORST. BECAUSE IT IS NOT REPORTED LIKE BOOZE IS. AND NOT GIVEN THE ATTENTION THAT IT SHOULD
HAVE. IT COULD BE FAR WORSE THAN BOOZE. ....

...........HERE IS A POSSIBLE REASON WHY THIS IS SO BAD.......FOOD IS VERY PLENTIFUL AND VERY CHEAP COMPARED TO
OTHER COUNTRIES..... WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH FOOD IN THE U.S.A. AND THAT IS A REASON THAT FOOD IS
SO CHEAP...(as compared to other countries in the world) We have a tremendous amount of land that grows food ....................Most people do NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM and that is also part of the problem.. .......................

.........................End of post........Time to go to sleep near Chicago Illinois..... It is now 11:30 pm where I live..................

1. It's not just over eating thats causing obesity

It's what they're eating. Loads of deadly refined sugar, addicting high fructose in just about everything. Labs are competing to come up with a formula for the most addicting additives. Sad times. Just eat like they did 100 years ago. Not easy but can be done. Buy only organic.

2. A lot, if not most, of the food given out by food banks, pantries, etc. is ultra-processed.

Stop eating meat, stop eating refined foods.

Prepare your own meals at home from fresh and unadulterated basics.
(Yes, you do end up having to wash dishes and cutlery, rather than just throw out food wrappers.)

Most of the world's population are already doing that, so what is stopping you? (Answer below.)

Answer:
1. Emotional eating.
2. Bad habits taught in childhood.
3. Availability of easy fast foods.
4. The sugar hit! Addictive!
5. Ceaseless advertising from profit motivated companies that give no stuff about your health.
6. Attrctive packaging on foods that have no nutritional benefit.

But if you want to avoid diabetes, heart problems, skeletal aches and pains later in life, what choice have you got?
