In the first-ever nationwide march for a presidential candidate, thousands of people in at least 35 cities took to the streets in the March for Bernie. Despite the marches going viral on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, national corporate-owned media outlets have, so far, remained silent about the historic nationwide turnout for many cities, in the midst of a blizzard. Sanders congratulated his supporters for the historic turnout in a livestreamed address on Saturday evening.
The mass march, just a week before the Iowa caucuses, was primarily publicized on social media. On Twitter, participants in multiple cities posted videos of large crowds amassing in high-visibility public places. And according to some, the number of marchers exceeded the number of RSVPs on the official March for Bernie Facebook event pages. Roughly 1,100 RSVPd for the march in Boston, yet as this video shows, the crowd may have been even larger:

The Chicago march brought out thousands, and the main program featured prominent local activists and even a local alderwoman to speak to the crowd about why they supported the Vermont U.S. Senators presidential campaign:

(11,366 posts)She was PISSED that the media didn't cover it. I told her it did - she and the thousands of others who posted to #MarchForBernie.
That's the media, now.
And I say this a former journalist. The profession I studied for and loved is a mere shell of itself. I've come to terms with that.

(14,691 posts)people are still finding out about Bernie. That genie is out of the bottle and not going back in. Fuck the MSM. We don't need them. They only think we do. They flatter themselves too much.

(11,366 posts)You're seeing: Charlie the rescued Cocker Spaniel, Gordy, the Chihuahua and Casper the Ragdoll Persian (no one calls him that, though, he goes by his rap name: K-Witty). The other two, not pictured, are Danny, my Beagle/Shep mix and Snap, my Pit/Rott mix - and, ironically, the sweetest of the bunch. The name "Snap" is a joke. She should be named, "Lick." LOL.

(13,877 posts)except when convenient. Problem is, I read where the Hillary Conversation in Iowa somewhere brought out 6 people...and she didn't even meet with them. So, how could there be equal time?
I don't have the link, but I know someone should...if so, it would make a good post here.
Energy (re that behind Bernie right now) that is not allowed to flow, builds up into a rush.
What we resist, persists.
Things like that are laws of nature...and politics.

(12,769 posts)I tried to meet up with one to campaign and do voter registration (and prove that people of color did support Bernie) but turned out he only wanted to hang out at McDonalds and quietly observe me.
I haven't seen any out on the streets except for a handful in Vegas before the first debate.

(10,345 posts)You wanted to campaign for Bernie so you met up with a Hillary supporter and all they wanted to do was hang out and observe you? 0.o
