I'm out of here

I'll sign up at JackPine

I respect a few of their supporters but I loathe the rest. My day is actually made worse by reading their bullshit

People leave for a while and come back to troll with multiple OPs daily that are explicitly designed to bait us. The vulgar language and insults get saved by a horrible jury system.

I came here because I thought it was different from where I was. I was wrong. I love all of you in this group. But seriously,
F*ck them.

I'll never vote for her and its another reason I'll be heading out. I'll stop in occasionally but I'm out. Bernie or bust for this Democrat of 20 years.

They're outnumbered, and there's too much history that can't be ignored. They have to see all the posts by Bernie supporters "trashing" her all the time. That being said, Hillary has a lot of bad history. Supporting her seems to be more a matter of faith in the Democratic Party (D) than about her positions. Hell, how can you support her based on her positions when those change hourly?

I've been here since 2001, mostly lurking, and have seen multiple campaigns come and go. When I look back at them, I have to come to the conclusion that, while painful, this is good for us.

It seems to me that what BErnie stands for is something we drastically need. The people with money are actually destroying the economy by either sucking more money out of us - the regular people - or my preventing us from having money (flat wages). The idea needs to be bigger than Bernie, though. Unfortunately, it's painfully clear that the Democratic party is too bought off to address the problem.

Somewhat recently, I joined the DSA (democratic socialists), and that seems like one venue to keep the idea alive. My impression is that people really want some outlet for anger and being screwed over for decades, and DSA might be provide it. It doens't seem like the problem will go away but will, in fact, get worse until it's solved one way or another.

Bernie does not put out false information. Clinton's support are busy trying to create an impression of Bernie that is not accurate.

I won't miss another of the "if Bernie doesn't win I won't vote for the Democrat" folks. This just seems like national suicide to me because if the Dem doesn't win the R does and I don't know if our democracy could stand another triple R threat. Hope you can live with that because I certainly can't. Now, if you are going to "Clinton is a R", then you haven't been paying attention to what the R's are these days and are again endangering us all.

I totally agree that Bernie is the candidate we've all been waiting for, I donate and support him and will 100% vote for him in the primary. However, if we aren't fortunate enough to have him as our D general candidate, I'm still voting for the D because she's miles better than the batshit fascist R's.

It started as a clown car, but now it's a full-on mental breakdown over there. If any of those lunatics seized power in the upcoming election, the damage could be immeasurable. The USA would be digging out for generations.

Come back though. We need progressive voices here. There will be a lot of trash talking and ignorance and even hate during the primaries, but things will eventually settle down.

The jury system does have it's flaws, but I believe the intent is to be democratic, to practice democracy even here on a message board. Perhaps things should be re-organized in some ways and I hope that admin has some thoughts or plans as to how. Some of the things I've seen posted here in the last couple of months I never would have imagined I'd see posted at DU... and allowed to remain. I've seen people on both sides say some despicable stuff, but for the most part these people are simply passionate about who they support and why. Most of it isn't personal... I don't think.

As for the Bernie or bust thing... I absolutely respect your right to vote however you choose, but I would urge you to reconsider that position. Some times it's a level of magnitude. I don't like Clinton, I don't think she would make a very good President, but I believe the republican front runners would be almost unimaginably worse. Some times voting for the lesser of two evils as we see it... really is the best option.

I'd love to vote my conscience every election. However, when the opposing party is so extreme as to be insane, insanely dangerous, destructive to an already overwhelmed environment... my choice is made for me. I cannot, in good conscience with-hold my vote, or vote third party, not when so much is riding on this election - even potentially, the fate of the entire human race.

K & R. Wish you would stick around and help us fight for Sanders here. Don't let the haters drive you away, you are liked, respected, accepted - and appreciated by many people here.

Whatever you end up doing, you have my sincere best wishes - have always enjoyed reading your posts, DU will be a darker place without you.

if the Hilary supporters would have a decent intellectual discourse, but I never see that. I see a lot of baiting, a lot of plugging ears and chanting I CAN'T HEAR YOU. A lot of laughing smilies, a LOT of laughing smilies. why the hell are you laughing at us exactly? Because we believe in a better future, a real democracy, an America that's not an obvious and unabashedly corrupt oligarchy? You know who laughs about that? THE OLIGARCHS. No one else should have the nerve or cynicism to laugh in the face of people trying the change our nation for the better. It's confusing, disgusting, infuriating, and no one can blame you for not wanting to be involved in it.
