(3,660 posts)So the Cook County Democratic Party actually endorsed Hillary???
And that they would use funds to send out sample ballots without a candidate?
How shady is that?
How about tweeting that image and providing the link so we can all share?

(4,797 posts)And here I thought Democratic Party organizations were meant to support ALL Democratic candidates, and only endorse for the general election. Silly me.

I was rushed the other day and hit their driver thru and got a regular hamburger (the little tiny one) - swear it got me high as a kite for about 30 minutes then I felt like absolute crap the rest of the day...

(35,669 posts)It will be nothing to be proud of. We will never forget that she did not come by the election honestly. She will never get my support and I will be alienated from the Democratic party for a long, long time.
But, dirty tricks and all, I think Bernie will still beat her in this election.

(39,215 posts)cheat the less likely we will vote for them. I know they think we have no place else to go but they are forgetting that we can stay home in November. It is cold in November.
Hey Hill, DWS, DNC and affiliates like Cook County Democratic establishment - the times are changing. A lot of us are no longer playing ball with you. Play fair or expect the results to be very bad.
Lordquinton
(7,886 posts)and it's really not any of us here that she has to worry about staying home, it's the many people who supported Sanders and have been having the message drilled into them that their vote doesn't count that she has to worry about.
If she manages to win the nomination, and then loose the general, it will be her fault, and hers alone.

(2,900 posts)others in primaries. It is no more crocked than you or I doing so. As long as the laws of the state allow it, and it would probably be an infringement of free speech not to allow it, they may endorse whomever they want to, and withhold endorsement from whomever they want to. It is not at all unusual for a county party to shun someone who just joined a year ago in favor of a longstanding candidate party member.
Now if this were the official state ballot, that would be another matter.
If you want your county party to endorse your candidate, run for the office of committee member.
Just because you register to vote with one party all of a sudden, don't expect to take over that party without a majority vote on all applicable committees.
Again, you Bernie Bros simply do not understand majority rule and free speech.

(18,791 posts)So for those that have been life long registered Democrats, have no voice? Or vote. That we must vote for who the "Cook County Democrats" decide is on a ballot? WHO THE FUCK ARE THEY!
What a steaming pile of shit this is.
It's cheating and stealing...it is anything BUT American and Democratic.
The Second Stone
(2,900 posts)that lists the candidates they support in ballot form. It has nothing to do with the official ballot. Labor unions get together and do the same thing, and the local John Birch Society does the same thing.
You can see the website here and the link to the slate here: http://www.cookcountydems.com/candidates.htm
It's like you Bernie Bros have never participated in a campaign before. And yes, we are out to get you every way that is allowed. That you think that organized politics is some kind of crime is just stunning.
You guys are might be registered (for this election) as Democrats, but if you don't know this stuff, you probably don't have enough knowledge to pass a high school civics class. Neither the local county, state or national party is something that the general public gets to vote for representation in unless they actually vote in the party elections. And the regular members of the party actually do get to endorse to the exclusion of candidates they don't like. It's called free speech and the right to associate.
The public gets to vote at the public voting booth at the primary election, where Sen. Sanders will be on the ballot, as will Ted Cruz and Donald Trump (on the Republican side) and then on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, the whole nation will cast their ballots for the nominee of a party (of which there are several, not just Republicans and Democrats, such as Green, Peace and Freedom, American Independent and others) and then, as per the constitution, state law will select electors to vote in the electoral college election. If any candidate gets 270 electoral votes, it is over, otherwise the House of Representatives will vote with each state delegation having one vote. If it goes to the House, expect them to elect a Republican as the House is highly unlikely to have a shift so big that the Republicans would not have it sewn up.
Now remember, those who failed civics: in a democracy, you can organize into political parties (note the plural) and the majority wins.

(2,975 posts)K and R and this cant be ok can it?
The Second Stone
(2,900 posts)that you want to be their presidential nominee, don't be surprised when the longtime members, who are allowed to vote to endorse, or withhold an endorsement, choose the longtime member over the Johnny come lately. They are not an arm of the state, they are a private political organization with the right to endorse or not endorse whom they wish. The members have every right to speak, associate and endorse whom they want.
You seem to be under the misunderstanding that the Democratic Party is a governmental entity, like a school board. It isn't. Neither is the Republican Party.
These committee members are elected officials of a non-governmental association. If they want to endorse a unicorn and deny the existence of elephants, they would be within their rights.
Its the same right you have to support your candidate, and if you wish, trash the other candidate. Only in as a group.
bernbabe
(370 posts)and Bernie is running as a Democrat (makes sense since he votes with the Democrats). They should put all the candidates, it's really bad form.

(14,574 posts)And people on here wonder why many people will leave the Dem party and register as independents, and why some people won't vote for Clinton if she's the nominee.
Because honestly, looking at filthy cheating SHIT like this makes me feel that Third Way Dem candidates suck EVERY BIT AS MUCH as the GOP worms.

(5,632 posts)I just don't understand how anyone can support people who operate this way. Ethics matter ... especially in politics, and doubly so for presidential politics because, well, we're talking about access to the missile codes. I don't see how anyone can in good faith support people who instinctively act this way. It reeks of the desire for petty revenge and driven by barely under the hood authoritarianism. What kind of person is actually down with this stuff? When did this become actually OK in the Democratic Party? My WWII vet, FDR worshiping, die hard Democratic Dad must be making around 9000 rpm right about now.
But as dismaying and disappointing (and maddening ... don't forget maddening) as stuff like this, we need to remember that HRC is, at least, not crazy. Trump is nuts. Cruz thinks Jesus is talking to him. You don't let someone who thinks Jesus is talking to him near the missile codes. Or a potato cannon. (Those voices in your head, Ted ... take a hint ... they aren't God and the angels. Medications, my man. You need medications.) Child safe scissors for this lucky winner, only. (Sorry, Ted. NO SUPREME COURT APPOINTEES FOR YOU, cupcake. Or you, Donald with your, uh, penis envy issues.)
As I survey the shit show that has been the 2016 primary season thus far ... I just don't know what to say. The Clinton camp is ethically challenged and clinging desperately to the magical thinking that everything will be all right if we just manage this neo-liberalism crap a little bit better. The Republicans ... a Republican mind is a scary place to be. Don't go in there alone, kids! 'Nuff said. This primary has been like being caught between the machine of Boss Tweed and the escaped inmates of Arkham Asylum.
Anyway, I'm with Bernie. My conscience is a lot cleaner that way, and I know someday I will be laughing at Camp Clinton followers and gloating: "Told ya!" Small satisfaction, but I will take what I can get these days.
