Bernie Sanders

OK, I admit, I have a snarky sense of humor... but I've been watching my candidates go down in flames (and much, much worse) since the 60s: McCarthy, Bobby, McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis... yeah, I'm a Democrat and I've supported soooo many "supposed" losers over the years. Yet I hold my head up high, unashamed! because hey, at least I wasn't a Republican. Ever. Never. Not even tempted.
So, the thing that is different about this election, what has really given me such a huge thrill and kept my spirits high is the way Bernie never fails to stick it to the establishment... Democratic party, mainstream media, what have you... because they have to acknowledge his presence in the campaign. If it weren't for him, who would speak up for us? Whether it is the banksters, the warmongers, the TPP, he blasts them in detail every time he gets to speak. No sugar coating, no carefully weighed gobbledy-gook, no argle bargle... BOOM he speaks the truth and the media HAS to give him the time to tell the truth. It must really chap their corporate butts to have to give him air time. It's a total hoot. Oh sure, they ignore him as much as possible, but when they can't wiggle out of giving him air time he NEVER wastes the opportunity. For a few moments, the world is a truly honest space.
It cracks me up. He gives me joy and hope. Just the other night he lectured Chuckles Toad during his town hall about the responsibility of the media to do their damn job and I just felt so grateful that he never gives up. He will always speak for us. And he won't give up. Because he's Bernie frickin Sanders.
Thanks, Bernie. I won't give up on you, either. You may not win the election, but you have won a whole lot more, for me and for this country.

(517 posts)I have hope for the future in a time when my family was making plans to leave this country. Im tired of war, of destroying our planet and resources, of corruption, and so many other things. I am now hoping to work for real change, right here. I dont want to give up. We will see.
