Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumCalfornia is having registration issues!
Just saw these FB messages from two people I know here in the Bay Area.
Jake: "I applied to be a delegate at the DNC convention, but they told me I wasn't registered as a Democrat. When I called the SoS and the SF County DoE, they had me registered as a Democrat, but looking it up online it says Im Undeclared. I had to go down to the city hall to get a signed and embossed Certificate of Registration to confirm that I am a registered Democrat. Something shady is going on."
Keith: "I just checked the San Mateo County Elections, check my registration and somehow I've been changed to NPP. Oh dear. I've been on absentee ballots since I fell ill in 2003, always Democratic. Now suddenly, I'm NPP.
Continue to get the word out about what is happening! I have been blasting FB with the message and links to sites where you can check your registration. We have a lot of work to do!

(2,943 posts)Here is the official wording from the Activist-Registration-Guide-1.pdf from the Californian Democratic Party Website:
A In this state, if a political party allows independents (Decline to State) to vote in its
primary, they may do so, but must choose only one such party. In California, the
Democratic and Republican parties allow this. When you sign in to vote in your polling place,
ask for a primary ballot for the party.

The California primary was an open primary until 2011 or something like that until a court ruling said they needed to change the rules and the syntax. So technically, California has a close primary. This is what proposed and done to fix the courts requirements.

(16,178 posts)These laws are so confusing. In Arizona it said you can vote in the primary if you are independent but buried on a different page it said you CANNOT vote in Presidential Preference poll.

(18,791 posts)I wondered what an earlier post was about.
Phewww...where to start. Definitly the local Registrar's Office but what about the Governor's Office too?
I looked mine up for Los Angeles County and it looked correct.
Devil's Advocate in me says...it's more a case of the offices fucking with the databases...software changes, sort changes, etc., idiots that don't know what they are doing...that mucks things up...at least in the most populace areas.
Smaller counties...uhm, good question.

(32,056 posts)It happens once or twice, yeah. But state after state - person after person after person? And it only affects folks who are independent and want to vote for democrats in this primary season?
They're not stupid. They're assholes, but they're not stupid. They know EXACTLY what they are doing.

(10,622 posts)It is worse than you think, oddly, it only appears to be happening with regards to this years Democratic promary voters, have not heard of other parties having such problems.
It has so far only affected Sanders supporters which makes me wonder many things.

(10,622 posts)Has somehow changed for many regarding party affiliation, like in Arizona, the only ones affected are Democrats that were changed to no party (meaning no primary vote) In NY nothing can be done about it, since they have rules now that say if you re register now (today is the deadline) any party affiliation will not take effect until next election.
This happening in AZ was not due to Republicans even if long lines were, what would they gain from letting Democrats vote in a Democratic primary? NOTHING. What is happening in NY is irreparable damage to Democrats disallowing them to vote Sanders.
Make sure, that you can be able to vote in the primary, even if little debs friends keep taking you off the primary rolls later on,. I hope you have same day registration there including party affiliation as NY is already being stolen as I believe was AZ.
A certificate may not be enough because the use the database to place you on the rolls at one's polling place, people in Arizona tried showing written proof of party affiliation bt were told if they were not in the computer they could not vote on the Democratic primary! They could ,eave a provisional ballot, but it would not be counted if the computer showed them as unaffiliated.
IOW the are cheating in an unexpected way, one they made sure could not be remedied in NYS, I hope it can be remedied in California, there was/is no remedy for this form of cheating in Arizona.
Check until the last minute yo can register with a party affiliation that counts in this primary.
This is some really large spread cheating and in some places is proving to be iron clad un fixable.
Be careful Cali Berners, don't let your State be stoilen like mine is and Arizona appears to have been.

(7,321 posts)using the link they provided. and i checked out ok, however I did have a question so I called the contact number (Alameda County) and I swear, we're talking seriously incompetent people. "Couldn't find me in the system" was told to me, at the same moment I'm looking at me in the system she can't seem to find. O.M.G. I started to freak out that she couldn't me, it turns out she's being trained and a supervisor got on the line and found my profile.
So you know what I did next? I told them I'm interested in working the polls and they asked me if i wanted to be an Inspector, Judge or Clerk. LOL. I couldn't believe it. I almost went for Inspector, but I said Judge and that I wanted to work on the Island where I live, so i got the job, and that I'll be receiving training materials in the mail in a couple of weeks.
I'm thinking all they know about me is that I told them I've worked as a poll worker in previous elections in a different county (Sonoma) and that I knew (by voting) the two districts were completely different in methodology. I guess that qualified! Wow. All I can say is, this explains a lot of why our "elections" are so f**cked up.

(20,234 posts)From an online friend yesterday:
"I've been a registered Dem in NY for about 14-15 years.
I updated my address 1/29 of this year, got confirmation from the DMV for my voter registration, then received a mailer from the Board of Elections saying I was good to go and showing me my polling place, then reconfirmed online via:
voterlookup.elections.state.ny.us
That I was all good to go.
This morning, I was not found in the voter registry. I reregistered (and now show up in the search) and sent a letter to the Attorney General. If you think you're registered, check. Last day to register and vote in the Primary is tomorrow, I believe. It's far too late to change affiliations. If you weren't purged, but instead somehow your affiliation was switched, you're likely to get proper fucked here. "

(3,533 posts)for each upcoming state primary and have phone bankers calling all who were Dems before and have now been changed to Repub, Indy or non-affliated.
This should be a top priority for all those not paying attention now. If they have been changed without their consent isn't this election fraud and the campaign must file suit.
NY, Penn. Cal. and MD are all being hyped by the Hillsters. maybe a good place to start.
