Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumThis is probably the only reason Bernie didin't have a clean-sweep of washington state...
However, that information was inaccurate. The caucus location on the letter was not her caucus location. The letter also stated to arrive just 30 minutes, which led Denise to speculate that, she wants me to do that, so I would not have enough time to get to my correct caucus location before the doors closed.Denise will be caucusing at a precinct just around the block, a short walk away. Not the precinct the Clinton campaign told her about.
A user on reddit said they heard another similar story from someone, who the Clinton campaign told to caucus at a location 45 minutes away on Saturday. The reddit user also said that they believe the Clinton campaign has sent out thousands of these letters, targeted at people likely to be supporting Bernie Sanders.

Proven over and over: this candidate cannot win with the truth.

(6,409 posts)When you pre-register, you type in your address, and you get a printout showing you where to caucus for your precinct. If they were trying to fool voters, I don't think they would guide you to a website that corrects the deception. Anyway, I doubt they would try such a blatantly illegal stunt.

(4,211 posts)In fact, I didn't know anything about it until he told me. Look, you don't have to like that it happened, but I find myself needing to remind you, this is the Bernie Sanders group... not the Hillary group... so, you don't get to gaslight for hillary here. If you want to do that, go to GDP.... or to the Hillary group.

(6,409 posts)I'm just saying it could be a mistake, based on an old address or other bad info. It would be illegal, so I don't think they would try something with a high risk and a low payoff. When I caucused yesterday, the Hillary people were totally surprised by the number of people who turned out, but didn't seem particularly bothered by being outnumbered 3 to 1. I don't deny her campaign has pulled some dirty tricks, but I don't think this is one. Of course, I could be wrong. I often am.

(2,760 posts)and was overheard saying "Pull the lever for Hillary" which is illegal, but it didn't stop him. Worse yet he was given a pass when complaints were filed and voters were disenfranchised. Dirty tricks are the name of their game.
That's one of the stunts to which I was referring. They did that because they were reasonably certain they could muddy the waters enough to get a "nothing illegal here" ruling, and they got it.

(4,211 posts)The Hillary campaign can easily just claim it was a mistake... maybe done by an intern/volunteer, and make a show of letting a volunteer go to legitimize it... but of course, that's only if anyone bothers to pursue it, which rarely gets done... just look at the what's going on in Arizona.
There's all kinds of a dog-n-pony show going on there...all under the usual pretense of doing something... and they'll likely keep it up long enough for most of the heat to die down, and then drop all pretense and go back to doing nothing... because they can get away with it.
Is it illegal? Sure. But as the old saying goes: It's only illegal if you get caught.

(9,497 posts)It was all about voting for Hillary and it had a surrogate form included in case I couldn't be at the caucus. I fit the MO of a die hard Democrat (which I was) because I have voted in every election large or small since I came to WA state in 91. That doesn't seem like a revolutionary.

Actually, Sanders would have won by a far larger margin if not for all the surrogate affidavit forms that she sent out to voters over 55, often with a stamped envelope included. That would not have worked as well for Sanders' mostly younger supporters.
