Go, take your sister then, by the hand
Lead her away from this foreign land
Far away, where we might laugh again
We are leaving, you don't need us

(2,380 posts)I don't think DU is something I want to be part of anymore. It was great while it lasted. But it's so devolved now, so petty, so NOT party solid, it's got nothing to offer me. Let Trump win. Enjoy the vengeance.

(3,544 posts)It's all fucking fixed. Establishment wins again. And now we have 4 more years of this shit. I'm hoping the revolution will continue, because we as a country cannot continue down the path we are currently pursuing.

(12,471 posts)I guess I'll just have to keep my mouth shut about HilLIARy once it comes.
Oh well, I wonder how Camp Weathervane is going to react when she loses.
I shall still support the down ticket dems, especially the ones in my area, and most especially the ones that support the same ideals as Bernie has all along. But don't expect me to support some pandering third wayer who wants to give everything that we have worked for over the years away. I simply will not do it.

(12,471 posts)When the hell are folks gonna wake up!
Don't you remember that they never counted all of the votes in Floriduh? Had they counted them Gore would have won.
STOP BLAMING GORE'S LOSS ON NADER!!!
It's simply a lie that the mainstream media have been propagating for 16 years now.
WAKE THE HELL UP ALREADY!!!!!
And believe me, when she loses, I will remind them of Nader, and how they sat on their asses when it came to counting the votes, and Jeb screwed us all by getting his brother in office.
I will remind them, as I have been telling them, that fully 1/3 of the electorate are independents, and how they cannot stand HilLIARy!
HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)More than a third of registered voters are Independants...it's about 42% now. Will be growing as more people leave the two parties disgusted with the candidates, although probably more Dems.
Yes, SCOTUS halted the counting of the votes. From a study conducted by a couple of newspapers, it appeared Gore won. He did run a poor campaign, and wasn't the most inspiring of candidates. Better than W though...Clinton can't make the same claim. About 4 times as many Democrats voted for Bush as voted for Nader. It wasn't Nader-voting liberal Democrats that cost Gore the election...it was the conservative blue-dog Dems that voted for Bush. They hate having that pointed out to them.... Facts and Hillarians are like oil and water.

(57,936 posts)Hillary is that she is boring. Her voice is dull an unexpressive. Her words are often too big for the memory of the average, busy person. She talks in relatively long sentences with little emotional emphasis on words of importance to her.
Her use of language has little rhythm. I could go on and on about it.
These are deficits of the soul and the personality, not things a person can learn.
She just is not very musical. And music is not just about what we think of as music. It's about vocal expression of all kinds. It's also about how we connect kinetically, physically with others and the universe.
Gore had a problem with that too. He seemed so controlled and emotionally limited.
That's why Bush II won. Bush II was emotionally charged. His feelings were accessible and palpable.
Mind you. This has nothing to do with intellectual ability although a lucky few get both this spiritual, emotional connection to the world and reality and sharp intellect.
Hillary doesn't reveal much of her real self. It's like she wears and iron shield at all times. She does not make herself vulnerable or appear vulnerable enough to reach people's hearts. She is aloof by nature.
A lot of her admirers like the idea of her -- the idea of a woman -- the idea of someone with "experience" (never figured out what they mean by that) -- but as a communicator, she really does not make it.
Trump -- horror that he is -- and nutty as he is -- somehow manages to communicate. He uses short phrases. Doesn't worry about sentence construction or even ideas. He just oozes orange -- and the people he appeals to love it.
Bernie on the other hand, is a master communicator. His voice is deeply compassionate on the one hand and filled with strength and determination on the other.
Bernie reacts to reality. That's why he did well in the test tube of the mayor's office in Burlington, Vermont but was a stubborn and apparently not always liked independent in Congress. I suspect that some who worked with him in Congress do not understand that he is by nature a leader and that working in Congress does not allow him to be the leader that he is. Bernie, being the dedicated public servant that he is, does a good job in Congress anyway. But, he blossoms in a leadership position. And as an Independent in Congress, he was mistakenly relegated to the position of a loner.
Bernie will make a much better president than Hillary or Trump.
If there is a God, Bernie will be the next president. If not, well, Hillary or Trump, take your pick. Depends on your issues.
I'm a Democrat and politics means a lot to me, but it is going to be a tough year for me if Hilary is the Democratic nominee. I can't even stand to hear her speak. Her voice and poor speaking ability grates on my nerves that much. How in the world can I bring myself to vote for her?
Ugggh!
Some will say, but speaking ability isn't so important for a president. Knowing policy, knowing the right people, etc. are more important.
No. The job of the president is to inspire the American people to participate in our democracy and to demand good policy at the federal (and state) level. He is our leader, not the master bureaucrat. Bernie is the candidate and the only candidate in the race at this time who fits that bill.

(91 posts)If he does, I wonder if DU will purge the Hillary supporters?
RoccoR5955
(12,471 posts)Besides, I now believe that the whole thing has been fixed. The primaries and caucuses were merely a facade to give us the impression that our votes mattered.
I can only be proven wrong if Bernie wins the nomination.
JDPriestly
(57,936 posts)But actually, if the Hillary supporters left, we wouldn't notice. The discussion would get a little more positive. But in fact, the Hillary supporters don't say much that is interesting here. They don't even post videos of their candidate. Ashamed I guess.

I just like alliteration. But seriously this is going to be dullest spot in America if Hillary wins. Because other than putting down Bernie supporters, the Hillaryites . . . . well I finished the sentence but then thought I was really being too mean and deleted what I said.
