Traffic delays expected Tuesday as Bernie Sanders visits Louisville
Louisville Metro Police officials say traffic delays should be expected in parts of the city Tuesday evening due to a high-profile visit from U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.
LMPD officials are advising Louisville residents to prepare for delays from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in areas around S. Third Street and S. Fifth Street, along with W. Broadway to W. Liberty Street.
Sanders and Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez are scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. at the Louisville Palace as part of their "Come Together and Fight Back" tour. Sanders gained national popularity in 2015 and 2016 as he campaigned for a nomination in the U.S. presidential election, and significant crowds are expected to attend Tuesday's event.
