Bernie with Irish President Michael D. Higgins
Jane and I were honored to meet with Ireland's president Michael D. Higgins at his official residence when we were recently in Dublin. Higgins, a member of the Labour Party, has been a lifelong advocate for workers' rights, women's equality and the needs of refugees. We very much enjoyed our hour long discussion with him which touched on a myriad of issues.
