Saw something very cool tonight!

My husband and I are on a driving trip into Central California for a few days; tonight we're in Cambria. There's an underground garage at our hotel, and when we drove in after dinner, I saw a wonderful sight!

The car next to ours sported a BERNIE 2016 bumper sticker!

I just could not stop grinning!

Now I have to get one too.

I got my bumper stickers a couple weeks ago and put the blue on on my back window...saving my white one for a while as I want to enlarge it and make some color copies for window signs.

I also placed an order with Cafe Press for a couple of magnetic car stickers for the side of my car too.

Actually...at work religion, politics and union are forbidden topics of conversation.

BUT I've been selectively bringing up Bernie to people...the responses are indeed interesting and I think reflective that we have recognition work to do.

No, no wine tasting this time; I'm driving! And our main focus is Hearst Castle, which we will see tomorrow.

The town is very picturesque.

years, tour goers were ushered right back onto the bus at the conclusion of the guided tour. These days people are free to wander the exterior grounds on their own after the tour. It's a welcome change. Have fun!

My grandfather had purchase a lot for each grandchild, but these were sold to bail out my uncle.

I went down there a few times, looked into buying there or building on a lot.

Lack of water means any new home has to buy an old home for the water meter.

No water, no homes, good idea, I wish other communities would figure that out instead of these ideas about building desalination plants.

Doesn't California have more people than the land can bear as it is?

Cool bumper sticker and I hope you two are loving it there!

I didn't know that was the process for getting a water meter. I've never heard of any community doing that.

It's funny. Some areas in CA are very crowded--the cities for example, and then there are miles and miles of open, empty space dedicated to farms or ranches or............who knows?

So I can't really answer your question. And it's a good one.

Maybe someone else here can.

It's a classic question that I ask, rather rhetorically.

If the measure of how many people is too many is based upon being able to leave the state in at least same condition or better, then we passed that point long ago.

The drought has really called attention to the reality that we've taken water for granted for far too long, and it's an interesting argument being had between different factions.

Up near Sacramento the farmers have highway signs fighting the water projects and proposed tunnels designed to send water south, and in the south the signs blame Pelosi et al for causing the water shortage that is preventing the crops from being grown in their desert, crops that were impossible before the canals.

I love Cambria for having said, "Not enough water, let's just stop building", and they seem to have survived quite well without growing.

Much of the open landscape you see north of Cambria is open precisely because there's no water available.

I like it that way!

I'm in Pismo right now, it was interesting to see what they did to Avila Beach in rebuilding after the oil spill.

Shirt, etc., too. However, for the bumper stickers, you do have to allow up to two weeks for delivery.

May as well get some event gear, too. You're bound to go to an event sooner or later.
