Democratic Party.. the party of the pragmatists.

as in the meaning (of or relating to a practical point of view or practical considerations.)

Which means we embrace left, right , and center points of view to get the job done.. aka the Democratic platform is where we work from

So in this primary/caucus season.. we are going to go to the most practical person to get what we need accomplished.. because the current resident of the white house has done so much to damage our government..

And trying to break us in to different sections during this primary/caucus season thinking we will be like the Republicans and not embrace our party platform and all the people of various views who support it with us.. (others may see a different path to accomplish our goals..but we have the same goals) is working a fools errand..

2. Buttigieg, JFK Essay, 2000 (posted without comment)

In Profiles in Courage, John F. Kennedy wrote that “we should not be too hasty in condemning all compromise as bad morals. For politics and legislation are not matters for inflexible principles or unattainable ideals.” It may seem strange that someone so steadfast in his principles has a reputation as a peacemaker between divided forces in Washington, but this is what makes Sanders truly remarkable. He represents President Kennedy’s ideal of “compromises of issues, not of principles.”
