Joe Biden Has Three Words for Democratic Candidates Who Took Swipes At Him in California

Video at the link:

https://www.mediaite.com/news/watch-joe-biden-has-three-words-for-democratic-candidates-who-took-swipes-at-him-in-california/

Democratic candidates like Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) took what were seen as veiled swipes at Bidin during last weekend’s California Democratic Convention.

After a town hall in New Hampshire Tuesday, CNN’s Arlette Saenz asked Biden to respond.

“What do you think of those Democrats who took swipes at you in California over the weekend?” Saenz asked.

“See you around,” Biden said, with a grin that can be seen from space.

That wasn't quite all he said. Check the video, and the complete article.

I just don't see that happening. Senator Sanders is going to have to come after Biden, but that leaves his rear flank open to Senator Warren and Mayor Buttigieg. I just think that Biden has the oldline democratic coalition in his corner and it is going to be difficult to dislodge him from there, I do think that Senator Harrus and Warren and Mayor Buttigieg have the intellectual tools to do that, but so far only Senator Warren has shown a hankering to take him on directly.

We will see how those negative innuendos by some of his opponents play.

It won’t matter because I believe I’m the end, it is one of either of them who gets the nomination and they take the other/each other as their running mate.

Sad the other candidates felt they have to take swipes...

At that California convention, Warren said “Some Democrats in Washington believe the only changes we can get are tweaks and nudges. If they dream at all, they dream small. Some say if we’d all just calm down, the Republicans will come to their senses. But our country is in a time of crisis. The time for small ideas is over.”

12. Warren is right. But that's beside the pont

The primaries have barely started. Of course there will be disagreements between them all. Or why even run? And the MSM will work like hell to get a clip of one of them throwing another under the bus. Or try and paint small differences into heated friction. They think that is their job. Which I guess it is...to create sensationalist stories to attract viewers which in turn attracts commercial sponsors. Its nothing new.

I always thought we could put up arguments like Warren has put out there, and all the while still understanding that we would be happy (to varying degrees admittedly) with ANY Democratic candidate who can beat Trump. That we understand we are ultimately all on the same side.

In keeping with my avatar, in hockey, two guys can have a fight on the ice, and then go out for a beer later. I sometimes wish there was a bit more of a leeway on here for discussing gripes as well as praising when they deserve it. I think DU would be richer for it. Its ironic that D candidates like Warren can say things that someone here might get alerted on.

27. Defining Biden for him
Wed Jun 5, 2019, 08:04 AM
Jun 2019

A common campaign technique is to define your opponent for him. This is an obvious attempt to make reference to Biden being "old school" or "from a past generation". To some extent it is to attempt to connect him to the "Clinton Wing" idea, mostly about just connecting him to the name "Clinton".

There are alot of candidates all chasing the "energized progressive voter". I'm just not sure how many of those there really are. My impression is that the vast majority of democratic primary voters are more "old school" than new generation.
