Marianne Williamson was on PBSNewaHour yesterday

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/why-marianne-williamson-thinks-she-can-defeat-trump#transcript

All I could do was groan and roll my eyes.

She appears like many good citizens who follow the news and express their opinions.

She wants to touch people with love. From the transcript:

And the only way to do that is to touch people's hearts. You know, the part of the brain that rationally analyzes an issue is not the same part of the brain that decides who to vote for.

Donald Trump has had a psychological effect on people. He has had an effect on the human psyche within people, but it's very dark, and it is not amenable to change by strictly rational argument.

I am someone who has had a career moving audiences. I'm someone who has had a career moving crowds and moving movements. I have a sense of what he has done. And the only way to defeat big lies is with some big truth.

And so the skill he has, the light side of that is what I can do.

====

Give me a break. This is not a new age gathering. You have to have some experience in running things. At least Trump had his TV program and a beauty show where he was in charge, I think.

But then, if we have a TV personality sitting in the White House, why not a love guru?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

6. I enthusiastically support Marianne Williamson
Sat Jun 8, 2019, 02:20 AM
Jun 2019

Marianne is a fierce and fearless Progressive. She expresses what I believe more directly and clearly than any other candidate. She is extremely articulate and she doesn't put up with any bs from the people who interview her. She has reasoned opinions and positions on the topics and she expresses them directly, coherently, and, most of all, persuasively. She shows how dysfunctional and psychotic our political and economic systems have become. She has written seven New York Times best-selling books, four of them were number one. She has wide name recognition. She taps into the goodness of people, and therefore, her candidacy is attractive to a wide range of people, across all sorts of political and economic boundaries. She calls out people who have stopped participating in our democracy and insists that they get back in the game - and she gives them a reason to.
I don't know if Marianne has a reasonable chance of getting elected president, but I know that having her in the debates will change the conversation for the better dramatically. She will bring the discussion to a higher level. This can only be good. Those democratic candidates who are stuck in an outdated mindset, who have sold their souls to the big donors, who don't really believe in Progressive values, those candidates will have no place to hide. They will have to come clean. No more hiding behind platitudes and deception.
To the person who posted this criticism of Marianne, I suggest you take a step back and look at your own prejudices, and your own willingness to stereotype and call names. Check out any of the many videos you can find on her website, Marianne2020, the interviews she has done and talks she has given. She is very impressive. She even has a good response to your belief that she is not qualified to be president.

I just read positions and watched one of the interviews- She's not a fool to be trifled with, she's fully articulate in a very refreshing way, and she's way deeper than "Let's all jump on the Love Boat." She's a woman with a deep Jewish heritage who can reach way back in our history and show us where we've been, how we got here, where we can go, and how to get there. At 63 years old, she's got a lot of experience to draw from.

This means that each candidate will have that many minutes to talk, to tell us why s/he should be the nominee. With her preaching of love and with her "executive" experience of selling books about the topic she takes precious time from others.

Do you really think that she should be considered for the job or do you just want to feel good to hear what she has to say? Isn't this irresponsible by you to prevent the more credible candidates to appeal to us?
