Pete Buttigieg: ‘Why Not’ Start a First Family in the White House?

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said he would be open to starting a family while serving as president. This Sunday marks his one-year wedding anniversary with husband Chasten Buttigieg. “I don’t see why not,” the candidate and mayor of South Bend, Indiana, said in a Father’s Day television interview on CNN’s State of the Union. Buttigieg said “it wouldn’t be the first time that children have arrived to a first couple, but obviously that’s a conversation I had better have with Chasten before I go into it too much on television.” If nominated, Buttigieg would become the first openly gay presidential nominee from a major political party.

Tapper said “Democrat” party in a question, which pissed me off.

Buttigieg came back with the answer to whatever the question was saying “DEMOCRATIC” party twice and with emphasis.

It was perfect. This guy is good.

He, a father himself, at work, attempted to guilt trip Beto for having campaign events today before flying home. I used to like him but his coverage of Beto has turned me off and I don't usually watch him at all anymore.

Explaining why it needs to be started. Tapper was trying so hard to make Beto look bad but he was unsuccessful. I posted a link in one of those click bait threads started about Beto to imply he did something horrible when in fact it's just twisted nonsense and a big fat nothingburger if you want to see it.

If a 37-year-old woman talked about starting a family while president, the reactions would be very different.
