What did Joe "get done" working with the "other-side"?

Please help me remember.

I do remember the biggest blunder in American recent history; the Iraq War. Where we killed at least tens-of-thousands and lost over 4 thousand and at the least the price of Universal Healthcare for us Americans.

I even remember he voted against the 1st Iraq War. Which was smart, but done without the "other side." Same with his strong support for the ACA.

And of course, I remember Clarence Thomas. We all know how that worked out.

But supporting the Hyde Amendment? I didn't know that and was hoping it was not true. But alas. It took his own advisors to convince him that was wrong way too late.

If Joe really wants to win the primary (which to be honest, I'm not so sure of) He needs to show his fighting side. Now.

Not the "get along" Joe we have gotten to know too well.

primary today, I would vote for:

prevention in form of drug deterrent courts and C.O.P.S., Community policing programs. Also addressed hate crimes.

Despite negative and unintended consequences, it is only fair to note that the bill’s measures and overall thrust had much support at the time from the black community, neighborhoods preyed upon and dismissed, they felt, by both law enforcement and the justice system during the crack cocaine epidemic when violent crime was rampant so that a small percentage victimized the large numbers, like 95 percent o& law abiding citizens.

far. Also, the following. Again, did not float all Dem boats.

From Wikipedia:

Following large-scale Republican gains in the elections and the departure of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Biden's past relationships with Republicans in Congress became more important.[258][259] He led the successful administration effort to gain Senate approval for the New START treaty.[258][259]

In December 2010, Biden's advocacy within the White House for a middle ground, followed by his direct negotiations with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, were instrumental in producing the administration's compromise tax package that revolved around a temporary extension of the Bush tax cuts.[259][260]

Biden then took the lead in trying to sell the agreement to a reluctant Democratic caucus in Congress,[259][261] which was passed as the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010.

In foreign policy, Biden supported the NATO-led military intervention in Libya in 2011.[262] Biden has supported closer economic ties with Russia.[263]

In March 2011, Obama detailed Biden to lead negotiations between both houses of Congress and the White House in resolving federal spending levels for the rest of the year, and avoiding a government shutdown.[264] By May 2011, a "Biden panel" with six congressional members was trying to reach a bipartisan deal on raising the U.S. debt ceiling as part of an overall deficit reduction plan.[265][266]

The U.S. debt ceiling crisis developed over the next couple of months, but it was again Biden's relationship with McConnell that proved to be a key factor in breaking a deadlock and finally bringing about a bipartisan deal to resolve it, in the form of the Budget Control Act of 2011, signed on August 2, 2011, the same day that an unprecedented U.S. default had loomed.[267][268][269]

Biden had spent the most time bargaining with Congress on the debt question of anyone in the administration,[268] and one Republican staffer said, "Biden's the only guy with real negotiating authority, and [McConnell] knows that his word is good. He was a key to the deal."[267]

Comprehensive Control Act: This 1984 law, spearheaded by Biden and Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-SC), expanded drug trafficking penalties and federal "civil asset forfeiture," which allows police to seize and absorb someone's property — whether cash, cars, guns, or something else — without proving the person is guilty of a crime. Under the federal Equitable Sharing program, local and state police get up to 80 percent of the value of what they seize as funds for their departments, which critics say creates a for-profit incentive to take people's stuff.

The rave act

The RAVE Act: This 2003 law built on the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 to impose civil penalties on businesses that knowingly lease, rent, use, or profit from a space where illicit drugs are being stored, manufactured, distributed, or used. The idea was to go after raves in which drugs are widely used. But the law has been widely criticized for making rave organizers so paranoid about anti-drug crackdowns that they stopped doing anything that would implicate them in drug use, including providing medical or educational services for drug users.
