Sticking with Biden.. I am more convinced than ever.. he is the best person at this point in time

Other candidates would actually be better at other times.. even 2 years ago.. but at this point in time, after two and a half years of the Trump mess , VP Biden is the best person for the job..

And no amount of throwing mud to see what will stick will change that reality.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

We have so many amazingly good people running and most of them will not go into the job assuming they can charm the GOP into not be filthy fucking traitors.

but he is my first choice.. and with every attack on him.. and he keeps on going.. made the call to Booker.. he just handles everything being thrown at him.. so it has reinforced my original reason for supporting the Veep.. he is the best person to deal with what we have to deal with at this point in time.. I feel that to my core..

I don't hate any of our top candidates who are all superb in their own way. But the idea that we aren't reaching out enough to people who ally themselves with Neo-Nazi's and white supremacists is asinine. We cannot pretend like they are honorable or reasonable people who care about the country.

has proven to me.. the Veep is the best person for the craziness that will have to be faced in the general.. We have to have someone who can stand up to that kind of withering attack and keep plowing forward.. I am more in than ever

A lot of the attacks will hurt the attackers more than Biden. People are really sick of that kind of politics and are looking for competence and authenticity. This nit-picking every word that an opponent says is tedious and unproductive.

It appears as though Trump has turned off a significant number of "swing" voters (i.e., people who did cast a ballot for him last time but aren't reliably Republican voters). Biden, I suspect, would be a comfortable option for such people. He's a known quantity, has experience, and as far as I know isn't proposing any new, untested policies that might make some people nervous. And there's no doubt that Biden, if he is the nominee, will have solid support from the party.

As to whether he is the most likely of the current candidates to beat Trump, I can't say. I think he could win, but I suspect that outcome would be more about people voting against Trump, as opposed to people being excited about a Biden presidency.

What worries me is what could happen four or eight years after that. If Biden wins, how will he govern? Unless a Biden presidency represents a significant departure from his career to date, I think we could see the same kind of resentments fester and flare that allowed Trump to get in the White House.

Anyway, just my thoughts - I don't claim any special ability to predict the future - and while my opinion is different from yours, I do respect your take and I'm always reconsidering and revising my own anyway.

I also think it is extremely likely, Working with the other side is a fantasy, at least in the next 4-8 years. I’m not sure there’s a solution for that in my lifetime.
