Night 2 of Detroit Dem debates drew 10.7 million viewers, well below June ratings

Wednesday's Democratic primary debate in Detroit drew more than 10.7 million viewers — an uptick in ratings from the first night, but still a big drop from the number of people who tuned in to the party’s first debates in June.

An additional 3.1 million people watched Wednesday's CNN-hosted debate via livestream, the network announced Thursday. The broadcast delivered on highly anticipated clashes between the race’s frontrunner, former Vice President Joe Biden, and Sens. Kamala Harris of California and Cory Booker of New Jersey.

The first Democratic debates took place on June 26-27 in Miami and were hosted by NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo. The earlier of those two broadcasts earned 15.3 million viewers across the three networks. The second night raked in 18.1 million viewers, becoming the highest-rated Democratic debate in Nielsen ratings history.

1) It's summer; and
2) CNN made it difficult to watch for older people who don't have a computer or cable. I am not including the millennials and younger as they mostly all have cell phones and could download the app if they really wanted to watch it.

The first debate hosted by NBC was on "regular" teevee and it was the first round of debates, new shiny object. Just my thoughts.

As for older people, they're probably not the people "cutting the cord".

It shouldn't be about attacking each other; it should be about attacking drumpf. Those with nothing else to offer except attacks on other Democrats, should step aside and get out of the race.

Orange Nero will have months of nonstop attacks against our nominee. We don’t need to help him.

Really. Last night, IMO, was a WTRoyalF debate. I'm glad most of them know how to fight, because they'll need that skill when facing trump.

to be fair the vast majority of public is tuned out this early . It's summer and unless your a real political junkie, a debate with 10 people isn't something most care for.

I'm amazed that many people watched it. Amy Clobuchar was one of the few who focused on Trump
