(16,950 posts)I guess the real standard is if you like a politician, then they can say nice things about Republicans.
If you dont like them, then they cant say nice things about Republicans.

(16,950 posts)one another.
You had an OP yesterday about some Republican appointees to Obamas administration being the same as 3rd party voters voting for Stein.
You dont have to answer because your first post already cleared it up for meyou like Pete, so its okay for him to say nice things about Republicans.

(16,950 posts)things about Republicans. If you like a politician, and they say something nice about a Republican, it doesnt mean you are not progressive because you like that people are decent to one another.

(11,088 posts)misunderstood me. I apologize for the confusion. Obama was a great pesident who appointed Republicans in his cabinet, and that was a wonderful thing. Having people in your campaign or administration who disagree with you or might identify with another party only helps strengthen our side.

Oops, your edit-having third parties who undermine Democrats getting elected is definitely not a viable position, sorry.

(16,950 posts)3rd party making Democrats stronger, which makes no sense.
But thanks for agreeing that saying something nice about a Republican doesnt mean you arent progressive.

(28 posts)about Mayor Pete. Regardless of how he does - and I hope he makes it all the way to the White House - it is comforting to know that there is a politician out there like him. It gives me hope.
In days gone by, our political leaders were often referred to as statesmen. Not so much anymore, right?
Pete is a statesman.

(28 posts)a fully 420 legal state, I can testify that cannabis can help smooth the edges at times. But, after a particularly difficult day in trump world, it can also throw you into that semi-paranoid state of mind as you wonder - My God, when will we ever be rid of this menace?

(28 posts)No other candidate, thus far declared, can deliver decisive blows so diplomatically, without the bitterness and anger of our current politicians.
I really think Pete is special, and is just what our country needs to crawl out from under the burdens trump has put us under.

(28 posts)Velvet Steamroller. I love it. Some folks are concerned that Pete would be too soft to go up against trump. I don't think so. If you saw him on CNN's town hall, he was nice, extremely knowledgeable, and very tactful. But he delivered some blows as well. And when he did, it was very effective because he backed it up with real facts.

(819 posts)He has to know that if he goes after Pete for being gay, even in the slightest, his re-election is toast. The Maga crowd will eat it up , though. I don't think tRump will be able to resist. Look what happened with Dr. Ford. He had to rip her in front of his followers. He just can't contain himself.
