I don't think Krugman has a full or necessarily accurate picture of what we are looking at here concerning AI and automation, at least in the long run.

The extrapolations that I have seen so far tend to support Yang's perspective and in that sense, he is anticipating something early in the game that needs attention early on in order to mitigate the impact.

I believe Yang is about 3 steps ahead of everyone else (including Krugman) on this topic and the need to fundamentally rethink how we view the economy and our overall goals. Are we just to be about money or are to we to be about people?

C'mon Krugman! He is usually much more thoughtful. All you have to do is walk into a grocery store to realize that Yang has a point. Businesses are trying to minimize the amount of money they spend on labor and an expectation that that trend is going to reverse is unrealistic.

Did Paul Krugman Say the Internet’s Effect on the World Economy Would Be ‘No Greater Than the Fax Machine’s’?

He actually tried to claim he wasn't being serious but then later admitted otherwise.

I get that he's supporting another candidate but geez
