Related: About this forumIt is too early still but I am getting ready to jump onto the Biden bandwagon
I hope you all are too, when the time comes. We have a Nazi in the White House.

(685 posts)Our candidate in 2016 had a lot of baggage that cost us a lot of votes. I know that some people on here won't like that assessment but it's true.

(685 posts)Repubs will run that 24/7. Doesn't matter if it's false and been debunked. Truth and republican can't be in the same sentence.

(297,209 posts)they wouldn't let anyone slide without vicious attacks.
Biden just got it first because obviously he's been leading.. if someone else breaks out.. we'd see the same avalanche of attacks.
The rw powder is definitely dry for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place candidates.. so far.

(8,678 posts)Our candidate needs to fight against those things and have enough integrity that the majority believe him or her. Biden has that integrity earned over his decades of honorable public service.

(11,746 posts)If we vote then they never get away with it. If we reject them and their lies and make them pay a high price, we win.

(11,746 posts)We have a Nazi in the White House. Not one of us has any excuse. I have seen every one of them barfed up here and those indulgences helped pit the Nazi into the White House.

(6,960 posts)If Biden is the presumptive or actual nominee ... if he so much as gets a bad cold he'll lose the election.
Voters are not going to pick a president based on who is the vice presidential nominee and likely mid-term successor.
(I feel the same way about Bernie, too.)

(41,963 posts)I like her. But we need stability before we can move in any direction. Everyone is ripe for it but I think only Joe can lose this for himself. If he stays strong and fights a clean but aggressive fight I think he can get voters who wouldnt otherwise vote to come out. And we need them. Badly.

(630 posts)There are others I've liked better (Harris), those I've heard out (mayor Pete, Michael bennet, my own governor) and my final choice, Amy Klobuchar. I have the deepest regard for Joe, however, and if he's to be our nominee I'll be glad to support him financially and with my volunteer hours. He's a man of character who cares about people, as are all our candidates (except maybe tulsi). So yes, I'll be on that bandwagon if/ when the time comes.

But the truth is they are all pretty set in their ways.

Joe Biden gets major South Carolina endorsement from former Harris backers
Known as "The Reckoning Crew," the group of three dozen women includes current and former elected officials, activists, and faith leaders and has played a critical role in grassroots organizing in the state. Biden's path to the nomination relies heavily on the South Carolina primary, which figures to play an outsized role in determining the party's presidential nominee because of its high percentage of African American voters.
"It's time for us to unite as one and put all of our energy behind the candidate who will not only beat Donald Trump but knows how to fix what he's broken on day one," said the group's founder, Bernice Scott, a former Richland County councilwoman. "And from there, we are confident Joe will continue to build on the history he made with Barack Obama."

(297,209 posts)anything can happen.. especially if you're not sure.
I came to Biden by accident.. I didn't really know who I wanted at first.. but when the long knives came out even before he launched I stood up for him against the obvious hits. And, it kept happening so we were kept busy, and finally the more I learned about him the more I liked him for the job better than any of the others.
Plus I had the whole experience of him as President Obama's VP!

(23,099 posts)I just love Joe's heart so am planning on voting for him in the primary. I live in a later primary state, so expect the choices to have dwindled by then. If the nation falls for drumpf/PUtin lies about Ukraine and Biden (not very likely) and Joe drops out, who knows who will still be in the race? Right now, if Joe's out, I'd probably vote Liz, but could vote for Amy instead? I think that the nation hasn't bought russian repug poison lies about Biden, they probably won't.
