Gabbard to Introduce Censure Alternative to Impeaching Trump

Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii) is expected to introduce a resolution calling for President Trump’s censure ahead of a Wednesday vote on the articles of impeachment drafted by the House Judiciary Committee.

Gabbard will introduce the resolution, which suggests “the president put personal political gain over national interest,” on Tuesday afternoon, according to ABC News.

The Hawaii representative is one of the last House Democrats to remain publicly undecided on impeachment.

“I’m taking this time for myself to be able to review everything that’s happened all the information that’s been put forward,” Gabbard told a crowd at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. on Monday. “And just all the factors that go into really trying to figure out what what is the best action to take for our country. And for democracy. It’s not a simple or easy decision to make.”

Then she must vote to impeach. Her oath of office demands it.

there is very small chance of removal from Office.
If he gets re-elected, it will be dictatorship on steroids in 2nd term because he will feel exonerated.
Censure could pass the Senate from what I read and will be a permanent blot on his history and is more likely to force the dictator to act with more restraint. So Tulsi's proposal has some merit.

Sorry didn’t make that clear.

On edit: I checked before posting earlier and nothing I found indicates she quit this race - censoring call is not going to be favored by the majority of Dem voters.

And we should shun her with a vote of no in pres primary. Right?

I think she has no shot in the current primary, so I was already thinking ahead to her next potential campaign in HI. I think her presidential campaign isn't a serious one; it's just to get attention and a potential TV gig. She's not too picky on where the gig comes from.

The problem is that in this case it is dangerous to let Trump stay in office. He needs to be removed in order to protect our country.

Impeachment is not about punishing Trump for his consistently immoral behavior. It is about protecting our country from a dangerous individual in the White House, which is exactly what Trump is.

He should have been impeached a long time ago. He should have been impeached when he started kidnapping children and locking them up in cages.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
