https://www.mediaite.com/news/cory-booker-derides-warrens-wine-cave-attack-on-mayor-pete-need-to-be-careful-about-tearing-each-other-down/On Friday mornings edition of New Day, anchor John Berman asked Senator Booker if he had watched Thursday nights Politico/PBS Newshour Democratic presidential debate, and if so, what he thought about it.
I didnt watch the debate, I was actually making calls to Iowa voters last night, Booker said, adding that he heard a lot of frustration from folks that there was more talk about wine caves than there were about gun violence or reproductive rights.
Weve really got to be careful as a party about tearing each other down at a time where we see whats going on in Washington, and we need to unite, frankly, bring our party together so we can bring a real fight to beat Donald Trump and push Mcconnell back to the backbenches, Booker added.

The artcle goes on to summarize and analyze what happened and how it might affect the race, and I'm posting the excerpt below separately to make it clear this isn't based on what Booker said.
But I do think the analysis is accurate:
Therein lies the risk that Booker identifies for the Democrats, that not only is very little gained from this line of attack, it also might embitter voters toward other candidates who fail the test. And as Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders demonstrated Thursday night, that risk extends to Warren.
Seconds after Warren and Pete finished up, Sanders swooped in to boast that he is the only candidate up here that doesnt have any billionaire contributions, which includes Warren. Her current presidential campaign, not her old pre-pledge Senate campaign, has accepted donations at or near the $2800 individual contribution limit from at least six billionaires.
The moral of that story is theres always a bigger fish, and theres always a purer candidate, but even by Warrens narrower standards, shes vulnerable to her own attack. Until very recently, Warren was doing the very same things she accuses others of being corrupt for doing, right down to the fancy wine tastings and the paid-for selfies.

(39,370 posts)He has inflated a fairly innocuous comment by Booker into an end-of-the-world scenario for Warren, who he tried to bury months ago by claiming she faked her long ago pregnancy firing. He is a favorite source of the Warren Derangement Syndrome crowd.

Bottom line to me, who gives a crap? At lead Buttigieg is being honest about his fundraisers and receipts, unlike some.

(115,683 posts)insane amounts of money into political campaigns. Unless and until that changes, though, it's just stupid to limit your fund-raising efforts on the basis of some self-imposed purity test, thereby tying one hand behind your back (or else not being honest about your funding sources). Don't bring a spork to a knife fight. As long as it's legal and properly reported I don't care how the candidates raise campaign funds.

(115,683 posts)I've been to one and I'm not a billionaire or even a millionaire. A wine cave is simply a restaurant that's built into the side of a bluff or hill where they can keep their wine cellar. Warren made it sound like it was like having a fund-raiser on a yacht in the Carribean. And the attendees were limited to a maximum donation of $2800, just like the rest of us. Can any candidate be bought for $2800, even in a wine cave?

(68,556 posts)Warren was off last night...at one point she wasn't paying attention I guess and she asked one of the moderators if they were talking to her...she also came off as angry. I thought the attack on Buttigieg whom I do not support was unfair...you have to raise money to run unless you are a a billionaire. I thought she told some good stories about the suffering under our current Medical system but with proper subsidies and a public option, much of that can be eliminated. I don't think either she or Bernie made the case for M4A very well. I thought Biden, Klobachar, buttigieg and Yang did well last night. Although, debates are not going to change folks minds in IMHO. Bernie was Bernie if you like him you still like him. Warren had a bad night IMHO. But she has loyal followers...the needle did not move after this debate.

(115,683 posts)except for Bernie, whose shtick has gotten really, really old - no matter what question he's asked, his answer always seems to be that whatever the problem is, it's all the fault of the billionaires. Obviously I'd support him in the general election but he just doesn't light my fire. I like many things about Warren but her routine sometimes sounds like Oprah giving away cars ("And YOU get free college! And YOU get free health care!" ), and M4A is not playing well overall. Buttigieg is always fast on his feet, but I do agree that the attacks were unfair. He's been catching up so that was to be expected. Biden was solid and sharp - best debate so far for him.
