She had that same high support against Obama.

If she were in this race, she’d be well above or at Biden’s level.

She would also have a large% of those who would choose any other first. The spot Bernie is also in. I think she and Biden would be largely splitting the vote, with the Sanders diehards supporting him. There would be no rest of the field.

If I were to vote in a presidential

If she were in this race, she would in no way be above 25%, probably 18%. Too many people this time around are glad she decided not to run again, and Biden is a strong candidate. They would likely split much of what he has now. But we'll never know. Unless she jumps in now.

I’d be against her. But she would have 30%. The key would be whether that 1/3 can take her all the way, just like Biden is going to try to do.

I think the difference is Biden will gain support later on, while HRC would have the issue of never Hillary voters, just as Bernie is facing.

During a town hall-style event in Columbus, Ohio, the independent Vermont senator said, “In terms of media coverage, you have to run within the Democratic Party.” He then took a dig at MNSBC, telling Todd, the network “would not have me on his program” if he ran as an independent.

Money also played a role in his decision to run as a Democrat, Sanders added.

“To run as an independent, you need — you could be a billionaire," he said. "If you're a billionaire, you can do that. I'm not a billionaire. So the structure of American politics today is such that I thought the right ethic was to run within the Democratic Party.”

By far the biggest cheers was not for taking on Trump, Republicans or corporate greed. It was for taking on Democrats. And no one is surprised by that. This will be 2016 all over again, Russian bots don't even have to work hard for it. It's the same toxicity and division that they can feed on and amplify.

But god forbid, what happens should he actually win the Presidency? What is he going to do? Still take on the Democratic "establishment"? It's easy to stir up emotions by creating boogeymans. Why take help from the patry and knife them at the same time? Not a way to gain supporters from either side. Duplicitous. Sun Dec 22, 2019, 06:49 PM

This isnt' a slam on Democrats, quite the contrary.

People support Democratic policies.

yet a lot of them have a problem with the party itself.

Can you explain that discrepancy?

I dont' think you can.

I will just lay it out

To many Sanders represents what Democrats used to be and should be. He is symbolic for why a lot of people had good feelings about the Democrats.

I don't know about you but I want a Democratic party that looks like the Democratic party.

There is no such thing as a "donor class"

That you would even say that with any kind of seriousness is a problem. Refuting this would require explanations on so many basic and established concepts and facts, that I don't' think it is ignorance that prompted you to say it.

This denial helps no one but Trump in my opinion.

in anti-Democratic Kool-Aid and has been for decades. Massive Republican propaganda. Because they can't get majority support for what they do, they suppress opposition by deceiving as many as possible that there is no party that fights for the rights and wellbeing of the people.

And populist Sanders piggybacks on that message as he trolls for populist discontent and resentment. I've come to believe he believes what he constantly says, that there's little difference between liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans. But that's bizarre. It's literally claiming there's little difference between those who stand for equality and those who stand for inequality, a living wage or exploitation, democracy or authoritarianism, individual rights or opposing them. Who believes a thing like that?

And THAT's your answer. It's understandable but still very dismaying that many ignorant, uncaring people can be so blind and clueless about who and what we are, but here?

"Campaign contributions don't buy votes. What they buy is access. ... They may have donated to you not in order to buy your support going forward, but because you've been supporting their good cause all along. And more often than not, you're not meeting with them because of a check they wrote, but rather because you're on the same team. You're strategizing together about how to move the ball forward, and trading useful information about how to achieve a shared goal."

Bill Maher has donated $3 million over the years to super PACs to elect Democrats. I guess Democrats are beholden to Big Maher now, he's the "donor class." He donated because he's on the same team. If he thought only about his money and not paying taxes, he'd give money to Republicans and vote for them.

Demonizing the wealthy who donate to Democrats, attributing supernatural corrupting powers to money used to pay for campaigns and assuming moral corruption is inevitable because of it, is not helping anyone except Republicans, who win when people think both sides are the same and don't vote (one reason). Rich people give fundraisers all the time for all sorts of things.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

This is why he won't be our party's nominee. There are more people who love the Democratic party more than he hates the Democratic party. There are more of us who are loyal to the party and who are proud of our party than there are of his followers who have nothing but contempt for the party.

No matter how many times the Democratic party is accused of being "feeble" and "corrupt" and "ideologically bankrupt"... IT WILL NEVER BE TRUE. The Democrats are not the enemy here. I wish more time was being spent on attacking the GOP instead.

It really serves no good purpose for anyone to smear, malign and denigrate the Democratic party. Things like that only cause distrust and resentment. It divides and weakens. It creates negativity. Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

However FDR wasn’t perfect. He turned a blind eye to segregation, illegally interned Japanese Americans, created the military industrial complex and dumped the liberal Henry Wallace off the ticket for the more moderate Harry Truman. And let’s not forget setting the retirement age for Social Security at 65 when the average life expectancy was 62. Seriously. Does he not realize that foments resentment? Stokes up the same thing as was done last year? He's shooting a bullet in His, Warren's, Biden's, Klobuchar's, Castro's and Booker's foot with this.

If he's serious - then I'm looking at only Steyer, Yang, Buttigieg and Williamson.

He's not a Democrat. He's a Socialist. He's just using the mechanics of the party to take advantage of the system. He's made it exceedingly clear how he feels about the Democratic party and Democrats. We're just a means to an end... only... there aren't enough of his followers to earn him the nomination. Lifelong and loyal Democrats remember what has come before and what has been said. We're not fools. We weren't born yesterday. We have standards that are much higher.
