Joe Biden lost my vote in Dem primaries 17+ years ago

As did John Kerry and Hillary Clinton along with every other politician who voted to give GW Bush authority to invade Iraq.

In 2020 I have 3 main priorities:
1. Beat Trump
2. Beat Trump
3. Beat Trump

At this point in time I think Joe Biden might be the best bet. I'm still undecided, but if it looks that way when Illinois holds its primary I will not hesitate to vote for Joe.

In my opinion he and Bernie are too old, both turning 80 before their first term would be over. The presidency (for someone who is not a sociopath who thinks he knows it all) is an extraordinarily demanding job requiring a very high level of knowledge and mental acuity in stressful situations with a level of responsibility beyond what any of us has experienced.

In a sane world Donald Trump would not stand a chance against any of the Democratic candidates -- or against any decent normally functioning adult, for that matter.

But with all the misinformation and a media more interested in ratings than responsible journalism and Russian intervention and voter suppression, I greatly fear the unthinkable can happen. The treasonous fascist fuckwad could get another term.

I've always liked Joe Biden, despite his 2002 vote for the IWR. Though he's far from my ideal candidate, winning in November "trumps" all other considerations. Without the White House our favored policies have zero chance of being implemented.

I don't claim to be an expert on the "horse race" but I've paid attention to issues and politics for a very long time, being old enough to remember JFK. We need a standard bearer who is known and trusted and has a high probability of winning this election. My gut and my brain are telling me it's Joe, but I don't have to make that decision yet.

Just my $.02, for what it's worth.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It's sad, given our vast bench across America that in 2020 our choices are going to be old, white Washington insiders. Bill Clinton and Obama can't save us now but this primary has been terribly disappointing and I've been working in Democratic politics for 35 years.

He's not my choice at this point, but you can't ignore the gravity of our dilemma. The differences among our candidates pale in comparison to the wreckage that a re-elected Trump could inflict on our country and the world.

You do realize the tremendous propaganda push from all quarters.

In our dreams, everyone is Barbara Lee!

Congressional Representative
In 1998, Congresswoman Barbara Lee was elected to serve California’s 9th congressional district (now the 13th) in a special election. In 2001, Congresswoman Lee received national attention as the only Member of Congress to oppose the authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) in the wake of the horrific events on September 11th. The Congresswoman believed this AUMF would become a blank check for endless war. As of 2013, this authorization had been used more than 30 times to engage in military action without Congressional oversight. Congresswoman Lee is working to repeal this blank check and restore Congress’s constitutional oversight to matters of war and peace. She was also an outspoken opponent of the Iraq War.

does not harm the image of the United States which is why Trump was never fit to be President.
That is why I will with every fiber of my being support and vote for whatever Democrat wins as they all could imo do the job and do it far better than the piece of shit staining the inside of the oval office and leaving a ring all over like its a toilet bowl.

Regardless of age, Trump was mentally and morally unfit to be president before he was elected and he has proved it every day in office.

Joe Biden would restore the kind of integrity and American leadership that Putin's puppet has been tearing down.

There's no way to know what JFK would have done if he lived, but it's possible he may not have chosen to escalate like Johnson did. He did balk when the Joint Chiefs pushed him to invade Cuba during the missile crisis, which in itself was maybe the most consequential great decision that any President has ever made.

I want someone with the temperament it takes to be president. I want someone who can build, repair, and staff our institutions the way they were before Trump. I never voted for Joe Biden in the earlier primaries. He wasn't my candidate then. But I am convinced that Biden was made for this specific political moment, an experienced, seasoned politician with a wide reach and appeal stretching even across party lines. We'll need every vote we can get to extricate Trump and his acolytes from the White House. We can argue about policy points once we've won. But 2020? This will ultimately be a referendum on Donald Trump and the last 4 years of immoral, incompetent and reckless leadership.

WINNING IS EVERYTHING in 2020. Joe Biden can win this thing, start the necessary restoration of the Republic and put us back on track, a liberal track at that.

That's why I'm supporting Biden. Plus I like the drum thing.
