Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Mon Jan 20, 2020, 11:33 AM

I agree with the Times 100%

I had come to the same conclusion recently.

Bernie is too extreme - and too old.

Biden is too much status quo - and too old.

Buttigieg might be ready someday - he could get some role in the next Democratic administration.

Warren and Klobuchar both have strong credentials. They both are in their prime. It comes down to if you want to vote for someone for more rapid fixing of problems - or for the one with a more gradual approach.

I think we should have learned from Obama and Trump - that the more that can be fixed - the sooner the better. Because you can't assume the next president will continue on with the whatever you have started.

primary today, I would vote for:

6. It was an impressive process, and...

there are video interviews that really show these candidates thinking.

Warren/Klobuchar 2020!

9. People should really watch ALL the videos of the extended interviews.

I fear that many just donít WANT to extend that courtesy to any candidate other than the one they favor.

Even here.

2. We will need

50 votes in the senate, including Manchin and Jones to pass anything, even if there is no filibuster.

That doesnít speak to radical change working.

3. Dems tend to slow and cautious while Republicans speed in the express lane

Warren already KNOWS exactly where the corruption is in our economic system and would likely put Katie Porter in charge of overseeing that reform.

I think Klobuchar has the toughness Iíd like to see in a VP to help get things done.

8. Warren has been on an upward trajectory her whole life

Overcoming many obstacles.

Biden has done his time in Washington. He is ready to retire. It's clear in the debates.

10. If you want to see what's clear in the debates, look at the results of the latest Iowa poll

https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287434092

and see the last debate's impact there.

Your comparison of Warren's life to Biden's doesn't match what I've read.

11. Warren's a young 70. She looks 60 with the energy of

a fit 30yo.

She is older than I am and her energy most certainly laps mine.....10 times over.

trying to keep up.

They're both in better health with more energy than most people their age.

15. Most people would feel similar concerns about Warren. Even though some Warren supporters seem to try

desperately to treat her as young or at least only middle-aged while denouncing Biden and Sanders as old.

If people who are concerned about age look at our candidates, they're going to view all four 70somethings as problematic.

It doesn't mean they're unelectable. It doesn't mean we shouldn't consider it, or talk about it.

Their choices and their reasoning are so close to what I've felt (and expressed on DU) for a long time. I've been waiting to see if Warren is on the crest of a wave (no individual can actually cause a revolution) or whether we have to go with pragmatism again. And they are the best representatives of each, I think.

I was also grateful for the many instances of eloquent articulation of thoughts I've mumbled to myself. The endorsements explained my own thinking to me!

Go after corruption in our economic system and it will expose how that corruption affects every other issue.
