Joe Rogan ridiculed high taxes on the rich, said divvying up wealth "makes lazy people happy" (2019)

Listen to this podcast and tell me if you honestly believe that Rogan is sincere in backing Sanders, when Sanders and AOC are so much in agreement on taxing the rich:

__________________

Ediiting to add that Rogan endorsed Ron Paul in 2012 and Gary Johnson in 2016.

Ron Paul's tax plan:

https://money.cnn.com/2012/02/17/news/economy/election_tax_plans/index.htm

Ron Paul: The Texas congressman, who has attracted an enthusiastic following of young people and libertarians, wants to repeal the 16th amendment to the Constitution, which established the government's right to tax income.

"As president, Ron Paul will support a Liberty Amendment to the Constitution to abolish the income and death taxes," his website says. "And he will be proud to be the one who finally turns off the lights at the IRS for good."

He would immediately repeal capital gains taxes, which the candidate says "punish you for success" and "interfere with your efforts to hedge against inflation by purchasing gold and silver coins."

He would repeal the 1993 Social Security tax increase, and work in the long run to exempt Social Security benefits from taxation. Paul would drop the corporate tax rate to 15%.

Gary Johnson's tax plan:

https://ballotpedia.org/Gary_Johnson_presidential_campaign,_2016/Taxes

During an interview on June 6, 2016, Gary Johnson said that as president he would eliminate the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other federal agencies if Congress sent him legislation to do so. Johnson said, "If I could wave a magic wand, we would eliminate income tax, we would eliminate corporate tax, we would abolish the IRS, and we could replace all of it with one federal consumption tax. If we had zero corporate tax in this country, tens of millions of jobs would get created in this country for no other reason.”[4]

I suppose some Sanders supporters might try to argue that Rogan could have "evolved" in his ideas about what sort of taxation he'd like to see.

But the remarks he made on that podcast less than a year ago show how unlikely that is.

So why is he now saying he's backing a socialist?

His endorsement suggestsed he likes consistency, but there's sure nothing consistent about his sudden switch from anti-tax politicians to backing a socialist.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

laziness is a luxury the poor cannot afford much of, but money lets you buy a lot of laziness.

they used to call the rich the "leisure class" precisely for that reason.

get enough money and you never have to work ever again, and you can pay others to do basic chores for you.

to be taxed at a really high rate.

I expect Rogan to announce he's changed his mind about Sanders if Sanders gets the endorsement.

And if Sanders doesn't get the nomination, I expect Rogan to spend a lot of time telling Sanders supporters they were robbed and they shouldn't back the Democratic nominee.

I could be wrong, but we'll see.

I don't think there's any way Rogan is really backing a socialist just because that socialist has been consistent.

his taxes raised, he might be tempted to push Sanders as a way of stopping Biden.

Rogan can always announce later that he's changed his mind about Sanders, if Sanders does get the nomination.

Or maybe there's some remote possibility that his endorsement of Sanders is sincere.

But it's clear from this podcast that his views on income equality and what the rich should pay could NOT be farther from Sanders' views.
