Yay Bernie! Yay Trump! Yay Trump Jr. 2024!

Cuz that’s what’s coming. Much gnashing of teeth and tears and shock, maybe some marches and such to make us feel like we’re doing something. Hope I’m wrong but that’s what I see. I’m old enough to remember McGovern & I loved the guy. I’m also smart enough to know what country I live in. And even though I’m in San Francisco I’m not in a mental bubble. Unicorns and rainbows are not in our future. Ever.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. "Unicorns and rainbows" IMO is an overly dismissive characterization of Bernie and his movement.

I would describe it as optimistic and hopeful. As in "Some men see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not?" (George Bernard Shaw quoted by RFK).

2. I don't believe Sanders can win a general. He has my vote, but we lose and maybe the house as well.

3. That's a fair opinion. I just think "unicorns and rainbows" is unnecessarily harsh and dismissive.

I don't want Sanders to be the nominee. But stoking resentment only makes people dig in their heels

Oh, please! Anything short of coddling and validating is considered to be "stoking resentment" apparently. You've seen the continued Sarandonesque threats, right? I'm talking about 2020. They're out there every day proclaiming that they won't vote; will only vote for third party; will write-in Bernie anyway. Those voters are a lost cause anyway.

He will make a fine president and help close the chapter on Trump's brief stranglehold over this nation.

As for the rest of your doom and gloom I'll just say I respectfully and politely disagree. The Democratic nominee will win!
