NEW POLL: Bernie Sanders Top Choice of Young Voters 18-29 By Wide Margins

NATIONAL VFB (April 1, 2019) — A new Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics poll shows Bernie Sanders leading all other Democratic candidates for President by a wide margin as the favorite choice among young voters between the ages of 18-29.

Trailing considerably behind Sanders is former VP Joe Biden, polling in second place with 20%, followed by former Rep. Beto O’Rourke at 10%. The poll notes that “one in five (20%) of likely young Democratic presidential primary voters remain undecided in the Presidential election,” and “several other candidates polled at less than one percent at this early stage.”

That's a disingenuous poll, a hand picked "group" to get the results they might have wanted.

Here's a poll I conducted this week. Among close family member I'm leading everyone else by 100%!!

...glad that our Democratic candidates are attracting the people who actually vote in large numbers:

13% 18-29
30% 30-49
29% 50-64
27% 65+

https://www.people-press.org/2018/08/09/an-examination-of-the-2016-electorate-based-on-validated-voters/

18-29 also represent the lowest turnout age group:

46.1% 18-29
58.7% 30-49
66.5% 50-64
70.9% 65+

Bernie has always been the most popular choice among the 18-29 demographic. The fact that Joe Biden is pulling 20 percent of that demographic with his age and not even declaring yet is impressive as hell.

There are younger, more talented candidates than Sanders. It's they who are the lifeblood of the party.

I suspect that all of those millions being poured into Sanders (and others) originate from Republicans who WANT chaos in the Democratic field of candidates for Trumpy's benefit. It's been done before.

Increasing turnout among younger people should be a central goal of the 2020 campaign, since this demographic leans Democratic.

Give younger people a clear and future oriented message and they may provide a margin of victory.

Wait till they start questioning where Bernie's tax returns are.

Wait till they find out that Bernie's top campaign management were instrumental in pumping Stein and defeating Hillary.

Wait till Bernie gets pinned in debates by multiple candidates on tough policy proposals.

Last time, Bernie got treated with kid-gloves. This time, EVERY candidate will be out to expose Bernie's massive shortcomings.

makes Hillary’s 53 percent four years ago look that much better.

Also interesting was this:

BY RACE AND ETHNICITY

Sen. Sanders leads former Vice President Biden by 11 points among whites (31%-20%), by 19 points among Hispanics (38%-19%), but is in a statistical tie with young African-American voters, trailing by one point (25% Biden - 24% Sanders). There is no statistical difference in support for O’Rourke.

Unfortunately, I think he's got a pretty tight hold on his supporters.

The same can't be said for Biden. I think he will lose support once he starts running and people are reminded again about all his flaws as a candidate.
