Nevada Democratic Party's hiring of Buttigieg ex-staffer raises concerns

The hiring of a top presidential candidate’s staff member to a position within the Nevada Democratic Party has increased scrutiny of the party as it works to put together a contingency plan for its Feb. 22 caucuses.

Dozens of Twitter users — most identified as supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders — on Sunday accused the Democratic Party of corruption and hurled insults at Emily Goldman, who was hired as the party’s Voter Protection Director in January. Many called for Goldman and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez to be fired.

Screenshots of Goldman’s Linkedin account noted she worked as an Iowa organizer for former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg until February, when she began her new role with the Nevada Democratic Party.

Goldman, who has since switched her social media accounts to private settings, is no longer employed or affiliated with the Buttigieg campaign.

And some still wonder how the "Bernie Bro" stereotypes emerged and why they persist.

It is far from just the 'bro's.' Some of the most viscious are female. So bloody toxic, the lot of 'em, regardless of gender. And when Bernie fails to secure the nomination, they will do fuckall to help beat Trump. In fact many will actively work to undermine our nominee.

Disclaimer: strictly speaking of non DU Sanders supporters.

but then i realized that its a direct outcome of Bernie's strategy.

Just like the MAGA'ts disgusting behavior is an outcome of trump's strategy.

When you make everyone else out to be the enemy, you give assholes the freedom to act like assholes in public.

How the hell does Bernie's campaign think that millions of non DU (people thus not subscibbing to a preordained 'vote Blue no matter who' mantra) voters for candidates that his affiliated (officially or not) non DU goon squads have shit on, smeared, slandered, harassed, threatened, etc will magically forget and forgive to the utterly-necessary-to-beat-Trump point they go work their arse off for Bernie, let alone vote for him??? This goes double for other candidate's SUPPORTERS, who have also, themselves, been personally subjected to the same types of brutal attacks and intimidation tactics.

It is fucking madness.

thats why you see regular posts from BS supporters to remind us to "vote blue no matter who"...even though their own response is "vote blue? depends!"

Isn't it pretty basic not to hire former staff or supporters of one of the candidates running in the primary to administer the primary?

I'm pretty sure if Nina Turner or Susan Sarandon or someone like that was chosen, there would be complaints too.

As far as the attacks and insults from Bernie supporters, there I agree, that's not helpful. But there are attacks and insults from supporters of all campaigns flying all over the place, check twitter, it's not limited to any one campaign.

You're going to see the same people, over and over, doing these kinds of jobs. It's not corruption, it's that nobody else takes the time to actually do the work.
