The simple logical test that is failed by Bloomberg fans!

All of the fans of Bloomberg say two things:

1. He'll do whatever it takes to get Trump out.
2. His financial resources / ads show this is working.

OK, fine.

Since we know that Biden as a Democrat nominee will unite the party and get Trump out (or Klobuchar or Warren).

The simplest step would seem to be for Bloomberg to throw ALL OF HIS FINANCIAL MUSCLE behind Biden and roll with it.

It's the single BEST route to get Trump out, avoids dividing the party and unites all the various factions.

Put simply Biden with Bloombergs cash would steamroll over Trump.

And yet, he fails to do this, why?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

Klobuchar had not demonstrated much of a base of support when he got in. And you mentioned Warren, but he's no fan of Warren or Sanders' economic policies. As others have said, I think ego/ambition is part of it, but I think the final straw was that he felt that Biden was not a safe enough bet to toss all his resources at... in fact, that no one was. So he entered the ring himself.

A) Biden is too weak a candidate to win the primary let alone GE
B) Bloomberg is an opportunist who is (like trump) only concerned with Bloomberg. Trump is just his white whale. But it's all about HIM not us.

That's what people do not seem to get: Bloomberg *IS NOT RUNNING FOR ALL OF US". He's running for himself, his ego, and wallstreet gang.

It's about how trump affects BLOOMBERG. Not "US"

As for 'backing democrats' - we'll that's a real mixed bag
Washington – — Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg donated $3 million to Gov. Rick Snyder’s re-election campaign — the most he contributed to any candidate as part of a $40 million effort.

The billionaire majority owner of the media conglomerate Bloomberg LP, backed five Republican winners including Snyder, though many Democrats he backed lost. Bloomberg also backed U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Township, who won his race for U.S. Senate.

I'm not sure that there's evidence of that at present. We'll know by Super Tuesday if Biden is going to be a viable candidate going forward, but it's not as simple as just throwing more cash at the problem.

Also, I think there's more to Bloomberg's rise than just a bunch of ads. I think some of his support is from people who believe Sanders could win the nomination and be a poor general election candidate and are looking for an alternative.

I started out this season a Biden supporter but as things moved along I’m beginning to doubt he has what it takes to beat Trump. His poor performance in Iowa and New Hampshire doesn’t give me much confidence. We’ll see how it goes in the later primaries. Maybe he can regain his momentum.

That said, if Biden wins the primary he will get a big cash infusion from Bloomberg. He just has to win first. Seems reasonable really. Bloomberg wants to see who has the majority support before investing in a single candidate.

Right now Bloomberg is focusing solely on Trump. He’s not denigrating any of the other candidates.

Let the process play out.
